| Nice commentary all around. Appreciate it! |
| I’m not one to bet, but if I was I’d put the mortgage on madison tomorrow. |
| What a game between Freedom and Patriot tonight! Freedom goal with 5 seconds left to win it. |
| Heard that Yorktown #1 is suspended for the Madison for his shameful behavior in the regional semifinal. But fortunately, all the teams I have seen this year besides Yorktown have been classy, and there had been a lot great lacrosse played by great kids. |
One of the best parts of this blog has been the insightful and dispassionate commentary on the teams and games. Have really enjoyed reading the the thoughtful analysis to this point without it falling into name calling and calling out the kids. I am the proud parent of one the Yorktown kids that you called out and have known all three since they were in grade school and since they all started playing lacrosse together. Have watched them all grow to be great lacrosse players and great young men, not without making some mistakes like all of us along the way. Two of of them will have the opportunity to play D1 next year and will learn even more lessons at that level while also going to college. They will all continue to learn lessons about respect, sportsmanship and humility throughout their lives. They are passionate and they play the game all out If you knew them outside of the field you would know how great they are. They are not perfect and when they make mistakes we call them out. I assume all the parents on this blog do the same with their kids. We want them to be great young men on the field as well as when they off. I certainly plan to take the comments made about my son here as an opportunity to remind him to play hard but with respect for the game and everyone on the field. You don’t have to like our boys or our team, but we should all at least respect how hard all of them in every team work at this. I know that my son already is 10x the man I was at his age both in body and mind. I am very proud to be his dad as I am sure all of you are about your own boys. McLean and Langley - great teams. Played us hard and could have gone either way. Very impressed with McLean. Great things are coming their way. Both have quality players and will be tough to beat in years to come. The end of the Regional Langley game was disappointing. Players on both sides and the ref let their emotions take over. Players made dumb hothead mistakes but the refs are not perfect either and should have kept their cool. They are the adults on the field. Fault on all sides here and a lesson for all of us. Madison - always tough - hate the cowbells but the game always pushes the boys to another level. All great teams and proud that we play them all out every year. I am sure we will trade wins and losses for years to come. We will all be disappointed for them, win or loose when each of our seasons comes to an end. A lot of us have spent many hours next to fields watching them grow up and we will miss that. This is their game - not ours. Let’s enjoy what they are doing and not make it about us. |
Yeah, what could go wrong when a lax bro gets to college and has even less supervision...... |
| Well said Yorktown dad! Everyone else- keep it classy. Madison dad here - we are looking forward to a great game. |
| Well said Mr. Yorktown, I couldn’t agree more with all of your comments! Best of luck to all of the teams tomorrow and moving forward. |
| Lacrosse is a small world. Once a player gets a bad reputation is is hard to get it back. It’s a shame those players’ parents and coaches didn’t teach them that before it was too late. |

Wow a lot of people here seem very capable of controlling their emotions. So much that they couldn't even refrain from an anonymous post bashing 17 year old kids playing a competitive game because of something the player said or did something stupid. Not sure what was said or done, but I am sure the proper channels will handle it. Friendly reminder to everyone that you shouldn't play wall ball in your glass houses. As someone stated earlier, the lacrosse community is small enough to where its tough to get out of a ditch once you put yourself there. Don't need other lacrosse advocates breaking these kids down because there is some personal vendetta or need to be a troll.
Moving on, it seems that throughout the whole season 5 teams have routinely been mentioned at the top. Yorktown, Madison, Lake Braddock, Robinson, Battlefield. All are in state qualifying contention and I don't think you could have asked for a better scenario in terms of state playoffs. Looking at all of these programs, you will have multiple high end D1-D3 players in all of these games. Predictions for regional finals Lake Braddock 12 Robinson 6 Madison 12 Yorktown 7 Battlefield 8 Freedom S-R 5 |
| I agree with the three winners but think the margins of victory are too high. Things tend to tighten up in the playoffs. Don't think Robinson loses by six or Yorktown loses by five. |

I agree with previous posts that Robinson does not match up well with Braddock this year.
Offensively, the Bruins won't be stopped. The Rams in previous two games have already shown they don't have the ability to keep them from scoring. However, the wild card is the Lake Braddock defense. This is where Robinson can compete and try to win a shoot out again, like in game one. The Bruins defense is simply not strong and could be the difference. Strong offenses may be able to exploit this. However, I agree with a previous opinion that Robinson lacks a true offensive shooter and scorer. Bruins will score goals. If they are to win regionals and states then it will be up to their defense to be the difference maker. LB wins tonight imo but if Robinson can figure out how to get quality shots off, it could be close, real close. In Game 2, the Rams had SOG, that were questionable and low percentage. |
| Great games tonight - appreciate any halftime updates or recaps. |
| Robinson wins |
