Where do I need to look? Please show me, I would love to see evidence of the same level of internet from you folks in Silver Spring and Wheaton in your own communities. |
Nobody said anything about protected bike lanes. Just bike lanes. Which are there. Flex posts aren't protection anyway. |
The classic response. Thanks for clarifying that you, Silver Spring/Wheaton resident, are crazily fixated on Bethesda but not your own community. It’s honestly weird. |
| Get off Internet. Ride bike or drive car to Pike and Rose and look. Protected bike lane is there. |
Good to know that the only thing the cyclists community wants is paint in an active construction zone. The next time I see the online shrieking about being “protected by paint” I will refer them to you. |
The main issue with the lanes is the 495 ramps which are screwed up by the flex posts. Nice for you to agree that unprotected lanes are sufficient. Remove the flex posts and everyone will be happy. Compromise is great and I thank you for being rationale. |
No, remove the flex posts and replace them with concrete or steel bollards or both. Concrete and steel are protection. |
So you have changed your tune? This is just a dumb argument in any case. Simone lied. The bike lanes to Pike & Rose are not complete. And none of this matters, because SHA are in process of being re-evaluated and will be changed. |
You're all tangled up in yourself. Are there bike lanes? Yes. Do they go to Pike and Rose? Yes. Are they protected? No, they are separated. Do people want protected bike lanes? Yes. Is SHA still in the process of installing their bike lanes? Yes. Are there people in Bethesda who support the bike lanes? Yes. Are people advocating for safer roads in other parts of Montgomery County too? Yes. I don't know who Simone is. |
So is paint in an active construction zone good enough for you? Yes or no? |
DP but why don’t you take it back to Nextdoor with the likeminded curmudgeons. Being a pedant isn’t helping you change any hearts and minds here. |
This is a very fascistic sentiment. Next step is what, I should move? Love you people as you somehow have the ability to simultaneously fancy yourselves somehow the “good guys” The core issue that I notice is that people like you live in an epistemically closed bubble of your own making which takes you to increasingly extreme positions. I understand that it’s hard to be confronted by people who hold different views but you need to grow up and get used to it. |
Fascism is a lot of things, but "I wish you'd post on Internet Communication Platform B instead of Internet Communication Platform A" ain't it. I also think you're using "epistemically" incorrectly, but I'm not going to argue about it. |
If bike lanes near your home are so bothersome then perhaps you should move. People move for many reasons. |
It’s clear that you don’t know what words mean so let me explain them to you. First, “Fascistic sentiment” does not equal fascism. However, it does imply that application of fascist principles and fascism is an ideology of reaction against, among other things, liberty. So I’ll post where I want, thanks. Second, the term "epistemic closure" refers political belief systems can be closed systems of deduction, unaffected by empirical evidence. And that perfectly encapsulates you and in particular you demand that I not intrude on what you perceive to be your ideologically closed environment. |
