I'm a rationale conservative - can you convince me voting rights legislation is needed?

Sure but he decided to embarrass himself by starting this farce of a thread. “Oh it got too big, I can’t read that many big words all in a row, it might make me think different.” He started it.

First off, sorry for misspelling "rational." I think about 50 people got me on that one. My bad!

To the posters asking if I've been convinced - sorry, tbh, I just can't make it through 40 pages of comments. Back in the day when I originally posted, I did pay attention to the first few pages, but didn't see anything compelling. Maybe there's some gold in pages 19-37, but sadly never got there.

Hope some got some productive ideas out of this.

Wow. OP “can’t make it through 40 pages of comments” — but sees no problem with expecting people to make it through (or not) significant and often deliberately implemented barriers to voting. That doesn’t seem very “rational “.

Good point. He couldn’t even pass a little citizenship and literacy test.

No one rational can defend this.

How can OP be expected to READ about this? You’re placing an undue burden on him! Too much!!

Nice text. What were the other 88,998 challenges about?

Key phrase: "assist voters"

Here's $100 cash to vote the way I want you to. I motivated you and thereby "assisted" you. Now what?

Probably Black people, women wearing pantsuits and known Democrats.

The GOP North Carolina maps are a true abomination. GOP is trying to lock North Carolina the same way Wisconsin has been locked.

Read the article, that’s not what this is talking about at all. Just because Trump paid supporters to show up at the escalator doesn’t mean that established voting rights groups pay voters for anything.
