| DH has a business trip to Chicago in a couple of weeks. I'm going to fly out and join him. Hamilton is playing there. The cheapest non limited view tickets are $350. Is it worth it? I know the show has been getting a lot of buzz, but is it warranted? |
| I saw it in NY after Lin Manuel Miranda, Leslie Odon and Philippa Soo left but before other original cast members left. To me, it would be worth $350 to see it again (and again). LMM is a genius. The show is funny, heartbreaking, educational and of course, beyond entertaining. I have never been in a theater where the entire audience was so overjoyed to be there. |
| It's a great show, although I likely won't be able to see it again in DC because I'm assuming it will be too hard to get tix. How are ticket prices looking in NYC? If cheaper, would you rather go there for a wknd trip? |
| It's amazing and I would not pass up the chance to see it. |
| Buy the National Theatre's season ticket package and get a guaranteed quality seat at the KC Hamilton. |
| It was the best show I have ever seen. Still sits with me over a year later. Although I saw it on Broadway with the original cast, I imagine the touring group will still be very good and worth every penny to see |
| We've got tickets for Hamilton in London next year! We're building the vacation around it. |
| Chicago is not a touring production. For that reason alone I would see it in Chicago over KC. Is $350 worth it for you? Hard to say but it sounds like a great weekend! |
Agree with this. We also saw it with the original cast and felt it was worth what we paid ($450/ticket, which in retrospect was a bargain). |
| OP here. Thanks for the comments. I think I'm going to buy the tickets! This will be our first date since our LO was born a few months ago. My mom lives near Chicago and is going to babysit for us. I think that's worth a splurge! I'm not sure when we'll get a chance to go to NYC and it's more expensive there anyway. |
Saw Hamilton last fall and I cried through it - it's beautiful and powerful. The Chicago cast is supposed to be wonderful, I have a friend who saw it there. Enjoy your splurge! |
| It'll be in D.C. eventually, and will run for years and year. Prices will eventually fall. |
Dream on. The prices for Book of Mormon have never dropped
|
These tickets are sold out. |
What's the difference between a non-touring production and a touring production as far as quality? Or what makes a non-touring production better, not just for Hamilton but for any Broadway show? |
