Thoughts about Hamilton

Anonymous
I read a board for the theater (mostly Broadway) community, and when I was considering seeing Hamilton in Chicago a couple of weeks ago on a work trip, lots of people encouraged me, with some saying the Chicago cast was on fire and possibly even better than the OBC cast. In the end, I didn't do it because the more "affordable" tickets (still a couple of hundred $$) were limited view, and the folks on the board said that when that particular theater says limited or obstructed view, they mean it.

I saw the Book of Mormon after much hype and thought it was just Ok, not nearly the best show ever. I suspect Hamilton is not that great, not worth $350.

Well then you "suspect" wrong! It is an amazing show and we saw it this July in Chicago. I would see it again if I could. And we spent more than $350. very worth it!

I really dislike the music so I'm in no rush to see it. I don't enjoy rap at all and no matter how many times I listen to the cast recording, I just can't warm up to it.

Hamilton is no Book of Mormon. How could you compare two unrelated musicals. Hamilton is the musical of a generation.
