they should make baltimore 'vice city'. legalize drugs, gambling, prostitution. It would reduce the ancillary violence by bringing these things above ground.

the trends for bmore suburbs aren't great either. they may be insulated for now, but they are trending downward

At that rate they should get 300 for the year. Maybe 400 if you assume seasonally higher in summer.

Didn't they used to get 600 a year in the 1980s? Back when Harborplace was new, Federal Hill, Bolton Hill, Otterbein, Fells Point, Canton were being gentrified? When Willie Don was mayor?

There have never been more than 355, that was in 1993. Second most was 2015' which was 344, with a smaller city population.

MY aunt used to be a Baltimore City cop. She was the first woman on homicide. She talked about how they would abuse people all the time. She thought it was funny. Baltimore police have been killing people for years. No one cared.

You have a source? 1993 was after the trauma center opened at UMd, and IIRC the murder rate fell when it opened, because what had been homicides became aggravated assaults instead. I am thinking it was higher back in the early 1980s - but I can't seem to find data from that far back.
