What do you fill the pinata with?

Anonymous
Planning my 7 year old's party here. It's fun to hit a pinata, but the thing is - what to put in it? Candy? I feel there are so many times during the year when they have candy that it becomes way too much. What else have you put in there?

plastic toys

CANDY. Always candy. That's what a Piñata is all about. And confetti.

Which is worse: candy or plastic junk that will end up in a landfill?

I do candy.

Erasers in fun shapes. A little more functional than the plastic stuff, but still cheap and colorful.

Toothbrushes and floss.

Any hard candy mix (chocolate can melt in the sun).

Those erasers just get thrown in the trash. They don't work.

Candy. If you don't want to do candy, don't do a piñata. Bob for apples or something.

Mini bottles of liquor

Oh wait, you said kids. In that case, candy

Smarties, mini twizzlers, snack packs of gummies, and the like. I even throw in those 100 calorie packs of cookies, crackers, craisens, raisens, etc.

I also put in nickels and dimes. Now that the kids are a bit older they love the coins.
