Maybe it’s just a bad habit of rubbing her thumb against her nails, but she has odd thumb position even when she isn’t doing her pincer fingers:

She has hooked thumbs, which is a normal anatomical variant (I have them too) but it isn't always the most desirable in modeling. I bet she developed that posture as a way to keep her thumbs appearing straighter for photo shoots.
