It’s not imposition when you are given a world language not instead of but in addition to a small regional language |
I am not in this predicament. But if I were that’s what I would choose. They are all the same despite what some want to believe |
You won’t see it guess why? Because the west is fine with letting Ukrainians die to slowly bleed Russia out but not to destroy it completely |
Not wrong. The West has been very happy to see Russia bleed out. Their stupid invasion has been a gift. The longer this goes on, the better for NATO. But as long as Russians are willing to die and destroy their military, I mean the Western world will say okey dokey Russia. Be idiots if you want to. |
I got Prigozhin correct. Did you? True, the prediction regarding either or both Solovyov and Shoigu did not come true by the end of December (yet). Let me explain why. Putin desperately needs a scapegoat to pin failures in Ukraine upon. I thought he would be smart enough to do this by January 1st, ahead of the March elections. If he replaced Solovyov, then he would be blaming the ultranationalists for goading him into war. If he replaced Shoigu, then he would be blaming the military for failing to take Ukraine. Until now, he's done neither. This means that he's still (to his own detriment) owning the failure(s) personally. Honestly, I thought Putin was smarter than this, but this seems to indicate his personal internal power base is weak and he needs their support no matter what? ""In this sense, if I may say so, they outplayed us," Putin said" https://www.newsweek.com/putin-west-outplayed-russia-ukraine-2014-minsk-agreements-1853765 So the question now is - how long can this go on? Like I said, my prediction is 18 months from January. What's yours? Come on, now. Put your cards down. Let's see your hand and who's a better Cassandra? |
I don't see it this way. The West has only supplied arms, training, information to Ukraine; largely since it's a non-NATO country so direct involvement is difficult. However, there is a new dynamic on the battlefield that will alter the course of the war, imho. The coldest part of Winter is yet to come in Ukraine. Ever been sick with a fever and had to sleep in the snow without heat or a fire to keep you warm? "Russian soldiers are suffering from an outbreak of rat-bite fever" "Transmitted by dust from rodent excrement, symptoms of the disease include migraines, high temperatures, reduced blood pressure, rashes, vomiting and bleeding from the eyes. The streptococcal infection is said to have spread rapidly on the Kupyansk front due to complaints initially falling on deaf ears, as Russian commanders believed soldiers were trying to avoid fighting." https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2023/12/20/russia-ukraine-war-latest-news-front-line-attack-putin-live/#:~:text=Russian%20soldiers%20hit%20by%20rat,blood%20pressure%2C%20rashes%20and%20nausea. The rats will be attracted to the Russian front line positions for both food and warmth. Those heat sources along the front lines will light up Russian positions like a Christmas tree. The Russians don't have many thermal optics, but the Ukrainians should be well equipped to pick off Russian forward positions - all it takes is one Bradley or M1 rolling up within optical range. True, Russians still have artillery and planes, but they aren't too accurate compared to Western counterparts. So what is the Russian military command doing to help their soldiers? Jacked up soldiers whine less. "Mephedrone, amphetamines, and alpha-PVP, known as "salt", are among the substances that Russian soldiers on the frontline take, with effects including paranoia and hallucinations" https://www.businessinsider.com/russian-soldiers-get-drugs-sent-to-trenches-are-bored-report-2023-10 Even if cold and disease doesn't cause Russian troops to surrender at key points along the front lines this winter, since (mostly) the Russians refused to collect their dead from the battlefield, those accumulating bodies are now frozen solid. By spring they will thaw. See where I'm going with this? The Russian military has constructed a time bomb of their own making. |
I was talking about the “Moscow burning” bit. It won’t happen. But yes it will become a grim place |
DP. My prediction is that this will go on in one shape or form or another for 10 more years |
But Russan is not and has never been a world language. |
. So Russia should get eastern Germany too? Seems logical. |
Revanchist Soviet era nostalgia has taken over Putin's aging, addled brain. |
| RIP Ethan Hertweck, another American mercenary killed fighting for Ukraine |
It’s a language you can use to speak in about 12-15 countries now. Ukrainian? Not so much |
Another straw man |
I wonder why they go there. Do they get paid? Do they feel like they are fighting for justice? Or they just like to fight? |
