How is Biden a progressive??? Congress blocks everything so is not like he could pass anything progressive |
Congress does not block everything. Not by a long shot. Where have you been? |
I've been told repeatedly he's one of the most successful legislative Presidents in history. Mark Hamill just said it today or yesterday. So it keeps going. |
By "debt forgiveness" do you mean PPP? Or student loans? Oh wait-- PPP was Trump, wasn't it? The idea that student loan forgiveness is contributing to inflation, rather than it being corporations driving prices higher to generate bigger profits (as demonstrated by the egg price fixing case, the oil company collusion, etc) is just economically illiterate and willfully obtuse. |
Sorry to hear your life is so bad and you live in such a miserable place. Where I am there is traffic from everyone going to work, the restaurants are full, and people complain about the lines at the retail stores. Economy is great in my suburb. Maybe consider moving from that depressed place and follow opportunity? |
That was in the first two years before the GOP House sh!tshow. |
How can the economy be bad for people when real gdp per capita is up strongly under Biden? This is real gdp, after inflation! The vast majority say that they personally are doing well. It’s only when you ask them how the overall economy is doing that many say poorly. Its all the press and narrative. |
So he was a progressive then... and he still is but the House is blocking him. |

43% of small businesses can't pay the rent, Bloomberg reports.
For restaurants, 52% can't pay the rent. That's the highest number since the depths of the lockdowns. And it's very odd considering "blockbuster" official statistics on GDP and unemployment. |

CBS: "Two-thirds of voters think the economy was better under President Trump!"
HAKEEM JEFFRIES: "That's just not the case." It is, in fact, the case: — Inflation has averaged 5.6% under Biden; it averaged 1.9% under Trump. — Real average weekly earnings are down 3.9% under Biden; they were up 8.2% under Trump. — The average 30-year fixed mortgage rate was ~2.7% when Biden took office; it's ~7.3% today. — Gas prices are ~53% higher than when Biden took office. |
-- Average rents rose 25% between January 2020 and March 2024. There are political observers who think the increase in rental prices will drive a fair amount of the swing vote. |
People aren’t too smart. They forget Trump was President all of 2020. It started under Trump, took time to fix but Biden likely won’t get the credit. Rent inflation has been very low this last year. |
