Or know someone who is? Sorry, I posted earlier with Basis instead of Latin. We didn't even apply to Basis but have an OK spot on the waitlist for Latin. Last year, the student with our number got in--we are under 10. But it looks like the trend is toward fewer people getting off the waitlist.
Thanks, guys. |
| Under 10 you'll get in. |
|
If 200 people give up their spot, I might have a chance!
P.s. My daughter is so disappointed. I'm not thinking it will be any easier to get in a 6th grade. I hope Cap City can keep my highly verbal, gifted reader challenged and growing! |
| Under 10, you'll get in. My DD is in 7th, and we met a bunch of/several Kids from Deal feeder schools who got into Latin (never having toured or researched) when DD was a rising 5th grader. They did open houses once they got in, and then the families decided between 2 great options. Some chose to stay at their elementary schools another year and others came to Latin. There are also people who applied and now the family is moving. The list will move a few spaces. |
Usually only siblings of an existing students at 6th (<5). They tend to take about 10-15 for 9th though. |
| we got in with a # under 10 last year. Good luck! |
|
I think you'll get in, based on past years. A neighbor of a friend is declining their spot due to a family move, so there's one spot.
Good luck! |
| Thanks, everyone. |
| Maybe. We weren't expecting to have this option, so we haven't even discussed it yet! |
|
We might be declining ours; we haven't decided yet. Regardless, under 10 and you should likely get in.
|
| Make sure they won't sell spots like they did last years! |
??? Can you elaborate? |
| We are 10th on the WL for 7th grade. Consensus is this is not happening? |
Not happening. |
Not for 7th-if you are a sibling there's a tiny possibility for getting in in 7th, but if not, no way. I was 3rd for 6th grade a few years ago w/o sibling preference and did not get in... |
