For middle school and high school. This will be for two kids. Looking for a nurturing environment. TIA.

Holy Trinity (Episcopal) in Bowie?

St. Marys is a great school in downtown Annapolis. It's K-12 so allows you to have kids at same school regardless of grade

Op here. Thanks for the ideas. I should have mentioned that we are looking for something secular. Thanks again.

Friends Community doesn't have a high school, but it's near GreenBelt. There is the boys catholic school, DeMarha, in Hyattsville, very close to Greenbelt.

Key school and Severn school in Annapolis for K -12. Indian Creek for lower school. If you are looking for really affordable, best bet are the religious schools.

Key, Severn, and Indian Creek are the three main secular privates in the Annapolis area. I definitely wouldn't consider them affordable, though.
(PP, Indian Creek expanded to High School a few years ago)
Of those, Key is the most progressive and Severn is them most traditional/academic. Indian Creek is generally considered pretty nurturing.

Of the top of my head, the only other private high schools in Annapolis/Arnold/Severna Park area are religious.

This is a pretty comprehensive list of all the area privates:

St. Anne's in Annapolis goes up to 8th grade. It is religious, but Episcopal schools are usually more broadly religious and very tolerant, not dogmatic.

I posted about this school yesterday. Does anyone have any insight on the school?

I have a daughter in lower school at St. Anne's. We are very happy there. Although it is Episcopal, there is not a big emphasis on religion. They put a lot of weight in to their "social curriculum," and I would say they are fairly progressive. There is transportation available from Bowie, if that helps.

Thank you! I'm thrilled you responded! We were accepted for K. How often do the children have outdoor play? How are the academics? Diversity? We live in the Bowie area and would probably be interested in the bus. Do a lot of the lower school children take the bus? How involved are the parents? How inclusive is the environment? Would you call it warm and nurturing? Or do the teachers avoid creating a nurturing and loving home environment? Sorry, I have a thousand questions but we don't know anyone at the school and it's not often talked about. Not sure if this is a bad thing or if it's a hidden gem. The only Annap schools we hear about are Key and another one that I can't recall.

Also, how challenging would you say the curriculum is?

You should ask the school these questions and not some anonymous person.
