They put a lot of weight in to their "social curriculum," and I would say they are fairly progressive. There is transportation available from Bowie, if that helps.

Thank you! I'm thrilled you responded! We were accepted for K. How often do the children have outdoor play? How are the academics? Diversity? We live in the Bowie area and would probably be interested in the bus. Do a lot of the lower school children take the bus? How involved are the parents? How inclusive is the environment? Would you call it warm and nurturing? Or do the teachers avoid creating a nurturing and loving home environment? Sorry, I have a thousand questions but we don't know anyone at the school and it's not often talked about. Not sure if this is a bad thing or if it's a hidden gem. The only Annap schools we hear about are Key and another one that I can't recall.

You should ask the school these questions and not some anonymous person.

It's also beneficial to hear about a school from anonymous parents. That's what the school forums are for.

I just wanted to bump this for you PP.
My kids don't go to St Anne's, but I have a friend whose kids do. She loves it. It sounds very nurturing and like a really nice, caring environment.

I don't think it's a "hidden gem" per se in that most people in the Annapolis area know about it and think highly of it. Key and Severn are the "big name" schools in Annapolis, but not at all the only great schools. (They are both preK - 12, so that's part of the reason you hear about them a lot more)

I should have checked the post much earlier to see if you had more questions. Have you made your decision yet? I will happily answer if you still have questions.
