If you suffered from bipolar disorder or had a loved one who did, you would realize that even scant amounts of stimulants can throw the person out of whack. She’s super tiny like my sister was. I can imagine the effect of any caffeine. And, yes, Britney loved Mountain Dew and was frequently photographed with it. That was likely her go to when she couldn’t access other pills. Everyone playing armchair psychiatrist and legal analyst should really just stop. You have no clue. |
So you know better than Azalea about what Spears was drinking because you saw paparazzi pics of her years ago with Mountain Dew? Lol good try. |
It might have been Coke. It might have been Mountain Dew. It doesn’t really matter. Both have caffeine. Lots of people say coke when they mean soda. Like xerox or Kleenex. Again: doesn’t matter. Bottom line is caffeine is a stimulant, and bipolars should avoid it. Instead, they tend to use it when they need a fix. You can base your ridiculous opinion on something Iggy said. My opinion is based on nearly 4 decades of struggling to support my bipolar sibling and what I learned from related support groups for others doing the same. You amateurs are clueless, and your Free Britney nonsense is dangerous. |
Britney isn’t your bipolar sibling, PP. You don’t know her, and you have no expertise regarding what sort of care she needs. |
I fully recognize that. But based on what is publicly known, Britney seems far worse than my sister. Based on what the public knows, the conservatorship has protected her from herself. Without it, she likely would be broke or dead. |
And you saw her take pills? I’m pretty sure you should take your own advice. |
PP you copy and pasted statements by people who benefit ($$) from her being under conservatorship. Her ex body guard saying she did pills, does not make it true. Have you not ever been gaslighted? It is very easy to make someone appear not with it and public perception can sadly become a “reality”. You should do some research into mass hysteria and the results of propaganda instead of armchair diagnosing people on DCUM |
NP here. I don't see any posts where anyone is claiming first hand knowledge of Britney. They're just saying that for bipolar people, certain actions that would be fine for a person who is not mentally ill could be triggers for an episode. So the coca cola/Mountain Dew restrictions have some basis in science. That doesn't mean that Britney's conservatorship is correct. It just is a fact for mentally ill people. |
Why do you think she did multiple rehab stints? Too many organic veggies? She’s an addict. The world knows that. And, the vast majority of addicts suffer from mental health issues. Again, the world knows that based on decades of acting out in very public ways. On a positive note, I’m pleased to see she has ride or die stans like you, pp. |
Lots of bipolar go nuts and broke all the time. It’s tragic. But how on earth is that a reason to take away all of the rights she has had removed? And honestly how often does mania kill people? Yes people who are super manic do dumb stuff but so do lots of other people! It’s horrible the way people with mental illness are treated. Sickening. |
Mania leads to addiction. Addiction is what destroys lives or ultimately kills. If you were ever responsible for a bipolar loved one, you would realize it’s a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” situation 24/7. “Why won’t you let me do X?” “Why didn’t you stop me from doing X?” ^^^ It’s a disease that makes them completely irrational. While they can be very empathetic and kind, they are also very self-centered and seemingly incapable of recognizing the impact of their decisions/actions. |
Her family used a low point in her life, when she had 2 babies back to back, was getting divorced, and being stalked by paparazzi, to trap her and take her money. Absolutely disgusting. When she needed a real support system of loved ones, this is what they did to her. How many people have imploded to some degree as a young person? People recover from breakdowns and depressive episodes ALL the time. And how many celebrities exhibit bizarre and untoward behavior, breakdowns, rehab stints, and so on - and have not been placed under conservatorships. All too many. |
+1. Taking rights away from people in perpetuity for having mental health problems will lead to more people hiding their mental health problems rather than getting help for them. There should be an extremely high bar for stripping someone’s rights from them for over a decade when they are sufficiently competent to maintain a lucrative professional career and when those assuming the person’s rights are making money off of it. |
The reality is that you know exactly as much about Britney Spears as we do. You are projecting your own biases as much as we are. |
Fact: we have access to the same info. Fact: some of us have firsthand experience with loved ones suffering with mental illness. Fact: some of you seem to believe she is equipped to run her life despite a very public record that points to serious issues. |
