Bullis concerns

Of course, the next few posts will deny that their student was involved in any issues and instead they were looking for______ due to ______.
We know better. Just move on and check Bullis out yourself and please stop by the dining hall. Don't listen to the haters with an axe to grind, they are just bitter.

I genuinely don’t understand why anyone would be “bitter” about a school that begs for applicants. Can someone explain this?

If they were more affordable, they'd probably get more applicants. We would apply. There really aren't any other schools that are larger schools, not religious and co-ed. All things important to us. And, if they push sports, that is good for us as we have a child in team sports but not a sport at Bullis so they might be a bit more flexible.

Every school has unhappy families. Even the Big 3 have unhappy families. Some schools threaten families not to talk and those schools concern me far more than schools where the issues are discussed. There is no real best school for everyone. The best school is the good fit for your child and most importantly where your child is happy. Not all kids can be top students and that's ok. All kids deserve a school that is best for them. Reality is from the Big 3, not that many go on to Ivy's and the more competition is not always a good thing.

huh?

Bullis parent here. This thread is ridiculous at this point, and the ridiculousness is coming from the lovers and haters.

Those that dislike it have their issues for good reasons. Those that love it, love it for a reason. It’s crazy to have to read through 43 pages to find the people who are giving those reasons in a rational, non name calling way.

The name callers on both sides need to grow up. As a Bullis parent it is embarrassing that the other parents/students/alumni represent the school this way and are reinforcing the stereotype. If you want people to see us in a good light then we need to show them why we are a great choice, not show them why the stereotypes exist.

word. but the stereotypes exist for a reason, as evidenced in the previous posts (let alone those deleted). The school, at one time, served a really nice niche. I hope it can return to that under new leadership.

My poor kid cried today because it's first day back. Being bullied by loud obnoxious kids at lunch is awful. June could not come not faster for us.

Newsflash - your public school is available.

Yes, I know that but made a bad choice for 9th grade. Transferring to our public for 10th. Just can't get out of the contract and rather not leave mid-year. It is bad but not unbearable. This too shall pass............

What do you gain by staying? Sunk costs are sunk.

How could your kid get bullied at lunch if Bullis did not have school on Monday? AND at 09:23 lunch had not yet occurred. More untruths.

I suspect PP was saying that the kid was crying about the prospecting of having to return given past bullying at lunch, not that it happened today.

The PP said that the tears occurred today, not the bullying. I know you love saying “untruths” like Trump loves saying “fake news”, but either you are intentionally trying to discredit anyone who says anything negative about Bullis or you have a reading comprehension problem. Please let us know which it is. Either way, you are one of the people who makes Bullis look worse every time you post.

Still didn't get a good reason not to leave now.

Again with the reading comprehension. They said they would prefer not to move mid-year. No one has to satisfy a random anonymous poster with the rationale for their major life decisions.

You think public will be better?

It was for us. In a smaller environment, I think the bullying impact can be worse because there are fewer social choices.
