Yeah probably not.

Of course not.

I think one problem may be that the other boy would need to be willing. That's the way it usually works. Someone has to ask someone else to dance. They usually run out of boys, so I've seen girls dancing with girls.

Happy 9th birthday to this thread!

Is this the same thread? It feels like a new one pops up every so often that I've thought it was stealth marketing. But if it's the same one I have to give it credit for longevity.

So now my curiosity is piqued. Jeff, are there any other threads with this longevity (in terms of age and activity)?

Our first Capital Cotillion experience! An expensive crammed money spinner that families in the DC area won’t hesitate to blow their money on, to have their kids try Cotillion. At $530 for7 sessions, you would expect quality control in terms of instructing the kids. About 8-10 young women walking the room to instruct the kids and adjust their movements but not enough, so the kids shuffle-dance looking deathly bored. Incidentally, you won’t find any reviews of CC on google or Facebook, so DCUM might be the only way to warn people who have value for money, to stay away from CC. For a company that has almost 800-1000 kids each season, you can’t find a single review?! ?

There is no need to be in private school to attend Capital Cotillion. Someone who knows your son probably gave his name. At the end of the year, they ask parents who else they might suggest inviting.

My kid got a solicitation in the mail today--it was a bulk mailing. I'm sure they really want kids with special needs there and that it's a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.

Then they ask the kids going to recommend a friend to joing CC, and they are happy take any of the children. Perhaps they also just take any kid whose family asks on their own. But they don't send to the public schools, so you be the judge if you actually want your kid to go to this.

My public school son received Ann invitation so they must be branching out.

Just a reminder, years ago, Mrs. Simpson was sued for discrimination and was completely unapologetic. Our school just had an incident where things got really awkward because the families of color did not attend. A few white parents about the lack of diversity and then got upset because they weren't informed about her past legal issues.

I, for one, would just go somewhere else. You don't want to give people the wrong idea because of a class.
