While that's a nice sentiment to think, unfortunately your last statement is not reflective of reality.

A poll of Israelis revealed that almost 60% think Netanyahu is not using enough force in Gaza and only about 2% think he's being excessive. There are close to a million settlers illegally living on disputed areas where did they routinely commit war crimes along with the IDF. Almost everyone serves in the military and the number one role of the IDF is to enable and protect the settlements. The genocidal government is very much an accurate reflection of its society.

I realize 95% may be a generous and overly hopeful guesstimate but I'm still confident the majority of Jews and Palestinians in the region don't condone the disgusting warfare tactics of the IDF and Hamas.

I think when children are indoctrinated an extremely early age with ideas of being the chosen people, that God promised you this land 3000 years ago, and that Arabs are lesser people than the society as a whole transforms. There's a good documentary called "Israeli" that's free on YouTube which explores how this happens.

At this point there is no beating Hamas out of the Gaza Strip and realists in Israel’s army have said this. If billion dollar bombs cannot take their tunnels out, what will? The only thing Israel can do is what they are doing now: making the human cost so bad that Gazans turn on Hamas but how can that happen without arming them? But how can Israel arm a hungry person and tell them Hamas is the enemy not Israel? It’s a trap either way and Israel can’t get out of it

Israeli arrogance is why they underestimated the threat of Hamas and focused so much on tech savvy Iran instead. They are being screwed five ways from Sunday because they failed to think Hamas with its primitive sugar and sand powdered rockets would ever be a threat. Apparently they were putting all the technology underground. According to hostages, there are air conditioners, indoor plumbing, generators, even CARS driving inside the tunnels and all of this was built underground outside of IDF drone detection for years while they were sending over sand and fertilizer rockets as a decoy/trick to get Israel comfortable.

Palestinians have no choice but to figure out a way to rise above and eliminate Hamas and the Israeli Jews have no choice but to rise above and replace their awful murderous leaders. Otherwise, the rest of the world has no choice but to turn our backs, pray for the innocent and let them continue to kill each other. I hope love and peace prevails but I become less optimistic every day.

Actually that's quite far from the truth. It's of the least priority based on leaked documents from the IDF. Controlling and occupying Gaza was much more of a priority.
