This is based on the false hypothesis that cholesterol is bad. The correlation between ldl/total cholesterol and heart disease is confounded and goes away completely when you keep hdl high and triglycerides low. |
The more you vomit the more your teeth rot. Your dentist is thrilled. |
You sound repulsive. |
China is the problem, not Russia. Do keep up. |
You should share your knowledge with all the scientists doing research on Alzheimer. They may be waisting their time when you know so much about it. |
Like most medical research, they want to be able to "treat" Alzheimers, not cure it. There is no money in cures. |
If people on the spectrum were not so good at masking such that they have kids who then are on the spectrum we could stop blaming vaccines and seed oils and shit.

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/04/11/goldman-asks-is-curing-patients-a-sustainable-business-model.html "GILD is a case in point, where the success of its hepatitis C franchise has gradually exhausted the available pool of treatable patients,” the analyst wrote. “In the case of infectious diseases such as hepatitis C, curing existing patients also decreases the number of carriers able to transmit the virus to new patients, thus the incident pool also declines … Where an incident pool remains stable (eg, in cancer) the potential for a cure poses less risk to the sustainability of a franchise.” |
There’s clearly a widespread interest in reforming our health care system, the foods we eat, our pharmaceutical industry, etc. This desire for change cuts across party lines. But the question in this thread is whether RFk Jr is the right person to deliver that change. Many people think he is not. But the larger issues raised here are important and we should continue to discuss them as a society. |
1. article is nearly 7 years old 2. does not address ALzheimer's research which much of the current research is focused o n a cure 3.. you did not post the complete article including the beginning promise and proposed solutions. The report suggested three potential solutions for biotech firms: “Solution 1: Address large markets: Hemophilia is a $9-10bn WW market (hemophilia A, B), growing at ~6-7% annually.” “Solution 2: Address disorders with high incidence: Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) affects the cells (neurons) in the spinal cord, impacting the ability to walk, eat, or breathe.” “Solution 3: Constant innovation and portfolio expansion: There are hundreds of inherited retinal diseases (genetics forms of blindness) … Pace of innovation will also play a role as future programs can offset the declining revenue trajectory of prior assets.” |
Genetic therapies have strongly decreased the need for conventional treatments for cystic fibrosis. https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2024/04/cystic-fibrosis-trikafta-breakthrough-treatment/677471/ It’s not a cure, but it has greatly decreased the need for the previous types of treatments.
There is ART and PrEP for HIV to prevent your symptoms from getting worse or passing it on to others, or help prevent you from getting HIV to begin with. Modern screenings for cervical cancer have greatly decreased the cervical cancer death rate and the new HPV vaccine (omg not a vaccine!) has decreased it even more! There are all kinds of medical breakthroughs aimed at cures and preventions. Anyone who says otherwise is straight up lying. |
