Libs?

Even most Republicans hate Gaetz.

He’s universally despised.

Gee, no wonder. He wants to stop their million dollar donor money from lobbyists and Wall Street. Imagine having an attorney general that has these strongly held beliefs

The Populist Progressive Case for Matt Gaetz.
The Florida Republican has championed consumer and privacy reforms, breaking up Silicon Valley monopolies, and opposes corporate money in politics.

By all means, please educate us on the litigation Gaetz introduced or championed on behalf of consumers or privacy, or what he has done to break up SV monopolies and get corporate money out of politics. That sounds fascinating and I can't wait to hear about how Gaetz has done this! It's so weird he never, ever talks about these accomplishments in public or lists them on his official bio on the House website. But I guess that tracks -- anyone who has ever seen Matt Gaetz speak knows he's incredibly modest.

Gaetz is unapologetically bipartisan and anti big business which goes against the gang of Republicans in Washington. You sound like one of ‘em or a frenzied Democrat still believing what MSNBC and CNN spoon feeds and tells you what to believe about people.

There’s a reason Wall Street stopped the partying about trumps win when they heard gaetz was his pick.

The swamp is very afraid of Matt Gaetz becoming AG. The Biden justice department found no evidence after a three year investigation and suddenly as soon as he was selected, the smears began again

Gaetz isn't a bad pick except for the fact that he is a sleazy criminal. That's a problem. No, really. It is.

No, the House Ethics Committee was going to vote on Friday, whether or not he resigned. They have been hoping they could throw him out a la Santos but the authorities have not been cooperating by charging him.

Count on it.

Nah. Potential candidates get pulled. It happens. Happens a lot, when you pick criminals and loons.

I am aware but we are not in normal times.

Absolutely nothing will happen. You all like to chase these stories and nothing ever happens. It's hilarious watching you all get so frothed up to be let down over and over again.

Is your brain broken? You’re ok with child rapists? No need to put them in jail?

Please explain in details what happened...

Gaetz had sex with 17-year-olds and paid them, according to witnesses, their lawyers, and Venmo receipts. He also moved them from state to state, which is trafficking.

He also used/shared illegal drugs with them and took photos of them engaged in sex acts. Allegedly.

He's basically the white trash version of Diddy.

To be fair, we don't know that he drugged and raped the women. We know that they were using drugs and some were underage - so, a crime, but perhaps a different crime.

He also shared photos with other members of Congress, so there may be some legal violations there, too. Also shows him just to be a terrible person.

Sex with a person underage is always rape, especially if he was 37. My God you people are full of excuses for this scum.

A bill that didn't pass. Anything else? This man gave two escorts 10k, frequently attended parties where prostitution and illegal drugs were common, was close friends with the host of those parties who has pled guilty to sex trafficking, and showed photos of young women in sexual situations to colleagues on the floor if the house.

I don't watch cable news of any kind. I read the newspaper and use logic to draw my own conclusions about politics. And I conclude based on everything I've read in sources like the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, Reuters, the New York Times, etc., that Matt Gaetz is an unpleasant person with poor ethics and an inability to build functional political coalitions on anything, who alienated pretty much everyone in politics except Donald Trump, who sees him only as a means to an end, a useful tool in accomplishing his own agenda because Gaetz will simply do as told without any hang ups on legality, morality, or even the US constitution.

Trotting in here to claim well actually Matt Gaetz is a champion for the little guy tells us exactly who is bring spoon fed lies about this situation and, babe, it's not me.

She’s the sister of a rich GOP donor.

“Numerous Republican lawmakers told Donald Trump and his team that they believe his pick to be attorney general, controversial Rep. Matt Gaetz, has little chance of being confirmed, according to multiple Senate Republican and people around Trump. And they’re privately hoping Trump doesn’t make them walk the plank.”
