So, create another ECNL 'union' and the DMV will win it all for 2010.

Create an independent team and barnstorm all these showcases and tournaments. If you beat everyone they will have to flight you higher and higher each time. See EJE7. No one around here has the spine to actually leave their ECNL hat in the lurch

Except the higher leagues gatekeep with their showcases and tournments, clubs also hide teams from potentially losing to no-name teams that could beat them.

Which open natty could they compete in and win? USYS? Who talks about those champions?

EJE7 made final of top flight at Surf Cup this summer so not always true. You need to have connections to prevent the gatekeeping. The counter to this is how many Eddie Johnson's are out there to actually make this happen

Surf Cup isn't an ECNL event, so no need to have connections to enter. I'm sure their connections helped get them into the top flight but tournament teams like EJE7 are still going to run into issues accessing certain events, and definitely won't be afforded an opportunity to compete for a meaningful national championship (which you could argue that any and all aren't true national championships since most are closed systems and arent fully open)

Putting together tournament teams with players from all over the country? That’s what you’re suggesting? If EJ could get his club into ECNL, he would.

The USYNT U15 team is holding their camp this week. https://www.ussoccer.com/stories/2024/11/us-u-15-u-16-womens-youth-national-team-roster-players-november-training-camp.
There is only one player from the entire DMV at that camp. For comparison, clubs in Northern California have eight players on that team! That's how much better california soccer is than here. Your DMV super team would not compete for championships.

Super team would never happen but they would 💯 compete with NorCal

West coast also pays ECNL’s bills

40M people in California. 6M people in the DMV. It’s not comparable.

Confirmed?

Heard this is happening. Will join as an alliance member, the three original clubs retain their OG statuis. Makes sense with NM pulling the strings.

Wait, what? When they lost out on infowars they decided to purchase a local soccer team?

Surprised it's taken this long. Once he "left" Mclean to take over at GFR, the writing was on the wall.

Has there been announcement or expected in the future?

Certainly don't want to drive to Reston for a training night.
