They are less than a year old so to be expected but there is no culture every team is just doing it's own thing. 2012 are a strong bunch but players will jump to NVA and Arlington next year, 2011 is a mishmash of players, 2010 is an SYC team, 2009 are adrift mid table, 2008 are not strong but playing the recruiting game, 2007 are glad to be moving on.

Sprinkle in a little bit of truth and then say a bunch of random stuff.

What's false about this information on the girls side? Looks pretty accurate to me.

You're right. It is accurate.

On top of it being pretty accurate, they had a pretty good weekend against the 'best girls club in NoVA'.

2-2-2 is definitely better than 0-4 but are you sure you should be celebrating?

The Union 12s are undoubtedly better than the VDA 12s, were expected to win, and did (in a close game).

The VDA 11s are slightly better than Union and won in a similarly close game.

After that is where things get interesting. The VDA 10s are a strong group, and VDA dad was convinced they had finally leap frogged the Union 10s. That turned out to not be the case, and the game wasn’t close. Union 10s are in first place in the mid-A.

Similarly, the VDA 09s had won every game after recruiting Brave’s best player and were heavily favored against a mid Union 09 team. A tie there is a win for Union, IMO.

The 08 game went exactly how everyone expected. Finally, the 07 game VDA was lightly favored and tied.

While in aggregate the day was a perfect tie, Union feels good about 4 of the 6 matches, and was expecting 1 of their 2 losses.

“Recruited” How many Onion 09s started their careers at Vienna, BRYC, or McLean? Basically your whole program is “recruited”.

In the 2010’s, haven’t the ecnl league results been fairly even over the years until Saturday?

I seem to remember a tie and a VDA win last year?

Union parents seem to have short term memory. It's not as if Union developed all their players. They McLean merged with SYC a couple years ago to form Union. Then they merged again with Brave this past season. The team has basically cherry picked players from 3 separate teams. No development necessary! How convenient for Union. Just remember where you came from.
thats what ecnl should do
Again… cull and merge to get the best va players

Union giving a big FU to all their haters at Bethesda cup. Summers 10-0 embarrassment looks like a thing of the past and maybe Brave was better than you all thought

Another addition to the Union (ASA, Loudoun girls program) and they could be national contenders by next year

2-1 against Bethesda and VDA isn’t “FU”. It’s a good weekend.

Loudoun is joining Union?

At this point would any club joining the Onion be a surprise?

Why don’t the top girls try to join Union 2010s or Arlington 2011s? And why don’t those coaches try to recruit the best talent to replace one or two weak links so they can make a run at the championship? They are clearly two powerhouse teams that could win a championship if they swapped out one or two (or maybe three or four) players.

Union 2010 has never won MA and lost 0-11 at the playoffs. 6 BRAVE players just joined the team. How many more new players do they need?

2 additional players away. No need for subtractions because injuries are real

Yet another example of the delusional parents in the DMV. "Powerhouse" teams that could win a championship?! You could make an all-star team with the best players hand picked from every DMV ECNL club, and that team still would not win a championship. What is it like to live in your make believe world?

Not PP but I beg to differ, I actually think a DMV all-star team with players from Baltimore to Richmond training once a week in Loudoun area every Monday/Friday, would certainly be good enough to compete and maybe even win eventually

What? Lol.

Agreed. Combine the top Bethesda, Union, and VDA 2010 players and they would win a championship.

So, create another ECNL 'union' and the DMV will win it all for 2010.

Worried coach?

This will never happen but the question is why not?

Create an independent team and barnstorm all these showcases and tournaments. If you beat everyone they will have to flight you higher and higher each time. See EJE7. No one around here has the spine to actually leave their ECNL hat in the lurch
