I bet he'll pardon him right after the election.

Keep moving those goalposts.

I haven't been following the trial at all until yesterday so not sure what you're talking about. It would be stupid of Biden to pardon him before the election.

But the FBI is a corrupt organization and my hero Jim Jordan wants to defund it. Nothing they say has any credibility.

Sorry, Jim Jordan superfan; the FBI used the laptop as evidence. You and your Q buddies will have to accept that the FBI confirmed that the laptop belonged to Hunter and the contents are authentic. I think you should start asking this question: why did 50 high ranking intelligence officials sign their name to a letter that stated that the laptop was russian disinformation? That’s a bit dodgy.

Could you provide the transcript where the FBI states all of the contents of the laptop are authentic? TYIA.

Right after you provide transcripts that show anything found on the laptop was Russian disinformation.

Trump right about Hunter's 'laptop from hell,' though Biden claimed Russian disinformation
It turns out that the laptop that was once widely denounced is being used as evidence by federal prosecutors to prove the president's son lied about his drug use on a gun form.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/columnist/2024/06/06/hunter-biden-trial-laptop-trump/73982808007/

“During the 2020 debate, Biden angrily defended his son (and himself), conveniently reciting a letter by so-called former intelligence officials penned just days before the debate: "We do not know if the emails, provided to the New York Post by President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, are genuine or not."

“There are 50 former national intelligence folks who said that what he’s accusing me of is a Russian plant,” Biden said. “They have said that this has all the … five former heads of the CIA, both parties, say what he’s saying is a bunch of garbage.”

CNN's response? It "fact-checked" whether Trump “spread Russian disinformation during the debate.”

The laptop showed up again this week in a federal court in Wilmington, Delaware, where Hunter Biden is being tried on three felony gun charges.

It turns out that the laptop that was once widely denounced is now being used as evidence by federal prosecutors to prove the president’s son lied about his drug use on a gun form.

It’s very real.“

No, because any thinking individual would know that the FBI would not submit and use the laptop as evidence unless it genuinely belonged to Hunter and they were 100% sure it was authentic and untampered with. An FBI agent testified it was authentic as well.

Are you the same person who thinks you can get Don jr arrested, tried, and convicted of drug use while obtaining and owning firearms based on the sterling evidence of your opinion while perusing his social media? It would explain a lot.

The FBI agent testified to this in court and you can't provide the transcript showing the testimony? Why not?

“Prosecutors on Tuesday spent hours on Hunter Biden’s drug problem, using his own words and missives to show the depth of the addiction and to suggest it was still ongoing when he bought the gun. They showed jurors his old laptop computer, the same one he left at a Delaware repair shop and never retrieved. In 2020, the contents made their way to Republicans and were publicly leaked, revealing highly personal messages about his work and his life. He has since sued over the leaked information.

An FBI agent read aloud messages stored on his devices that chronicled a desperate effort to buy drugs. The data also included receipts for a detox facility he attended before relapsing and showed large cash withdrawals.

In one exchange with Hallie, the day after he bought the gun, she wrote: “I called you 500 times in past 24 hours.” Hunter replied less than a minute later, informing her that he was “sleeping on a car smoking crack on 4th street and Rodney.”

“There’s my truth,” he added in a follow-up text.

But during cross-examination, the FBI agent testified that Hunter Biden sent fewer messages about seeking drugs in October 2018, around the time when he purchased the gun, than in February 2019, a later period in which Lowell described his client as struggling significantly with addiction.“

The FBI using the laptop as evidence is confirmation.

No one will threaten the judge or jury.
There is no connection to Joe Biden. None.

Was it a political prosecution? Maybe, but no one is threatening to burn down the judiciary because Hunter was tried and convicted by a jury.

Correct. There is no connection to Joe Biden for the drug related offenses.

Now, for the tax evasion, Burisma and money laundering, there is.

Are conservatives happy? Does the justice system work now?

Wonder what the 2nd Amendment folks think of this. It is extremely unusual for prosecutors to go after someone for simply denying they're in active addiction when purchasing a gun. There was no other crime. It seems this would open the floodgates for prosecutors to go after any gun owner who has misused prescription drugs or drinks too much. If I were a progressive DA, I'd be all over this.

Yes. He’s going by to jail for that one.

Wesley Snipes got a 3 year sentence. I suspect we are going to hear a lot about that as Hunter’s own tax case approaches before the election.

I have clients who did time in federal prison for tax fraud. It’s a very real, and likely, possibility.

I'm not seeing any testimony saying that everything on the laptop is authentic. That was your claim.

Agree.

Total liberal and I sort of feel sorry for him (loss of his mom/sister as a kid, followed by living in the shadow of the golden child) but he is pretty clearly getting what he deserves.

I don't feel sorry for Hunter, but I do feel sorry for the people who love him, especially his dad, to whom this will be a big blow given all his personal losses. I'm sure MAGA will revel in that pain.

Why do you feel bad for his dad? He is clearly the product of an upbringing where bad behavior gets indulged and no limits or consequences are ever enforced.

Hunter’s brother Beau was basically perfect, so clearly upbringing had nothing to do with Hunter’s bad decisions.

Looking at the family dynamic, his behavior seems oppositional out of resentment to his brother.

No. We don't have a justice system. We have a legal system that does not dispense justice.
