| 70 grand or 30 grand. |
| Absolutely. |

If you have the money why not?
We are not super rich so If I had that kind of money, I would save that money for my kids and make sure that they never incur student debt. I would maybe think about putting that money ad the down payment for their first house. In other words - I can find better use of that $160K than hand it over to Duke. |
| no not worth the difference. And i'm someone who usually sides with the private school in thes vs. questions. |
| How rich do you have to be for this not to matter? Because there are thousands of VA, NC, SC, FL, GA residents at Duke that turned down damn good flagships. |
|
Most of Duke (#8) are residents who turned down:
UVA #24 UNC #30 Clemson #66 Georgia #56 Florida #50 |
| The culture at Duke is really different than the culture at UVA. Durham is not as nice of a town and further away, but the smaller size might be of interest. |
| If she wants to go to grad school, save money now and give her the money to go to the best grad school she gets into. |
This. |
| I'm paying it, so yes. |
I went to one of these instead of Duke. It's one of the biggest regrets of my life. |
| Like all colleges, it depends upon the intended program. Different schools have different strengths and weaknesses in their departments. |
Correct. Don't be misled by the name if money makes a difference. |
Did you go to grad school? |
