Where are you guys?

Still here. Good luck with a murder conviction. Both suspects are confirmed liars. How do you which story is true?

A jury may not believe the gf was innocent, but that won’t mean they will hand Fotis a not guilty.,

They aren't going to convict either of murder unless they know exactly who committed the murder and with what. I suspect we will shortly get both suspects pointing to each other as the "real" killer. "I am just guilty of helping him/her of covering up his/her crime because I feel victim to their charms."

That has never happened before. The police and prosecutors will be completely stumped and drop the case.

It's happened before and a murder conviction was not the result. Good luck with getting anything more than illegal disposal or other ancillary crimes.

Thomas Capano murdered his ex Anne Marie Fahey and dropped her body in a large cooler off the side of a boat. He blamed his current mistress, who admitted she had provided the gun. No one believed that, and he went to jail for Anne Marie's murder. Now the murderer's brother, who had helped dispose of the body testified, too. But even so, they have DNA and blood proving that Jennifer is dead, and they had none of that for Anne Marie.

One of just three during the 1990s. Prosecutors are risk adverse because of the results associated with failure.

You don't actually think that the prosecutors won't take this one to trial. It's far too high profile to ignore.

They might not. If you can get the suspects to plead guilty to lesser offenses thats some reasonable fraction of a second or third degree homicide, why risk prosecuting the real crime and getting nothing. DAs are elected or appointed positions. Big losses mean no job. This is why it is necessary to talk about what specifically you think they will be convicted of. Right now you have an easy case for improper disposal and concealment. There's also conspiracy that would be relatively easy.

Yes, these two are likely to get jail time. Are we going to see a murder charge? I don't think so. "There's a lot of laws, son."

I disagree. She is already apparently cooperating. She will get some small charge about the concealment. He will get a murder charge and will be convicted. There is no "Gone Girl" scenario here - it's not as though there isn't direct evidence that he was actually involved in the disappearance. The presence of her DNA in the employee's truck that he borrowed that day is proof enough of that. There is already a treasure trove of circumstantial evidence that we know about, and you know that the prosecution hasn't revealed everything they have in the case.

Has he given an excuse for why he is seen disposing of the garbage bags that contained the bloody materials? Is he denying that it was him?

They’ve said it was a “Gone Girl” scenario. She either faked it or maybe she committed suicide and he panicked and cleaned and concealed. Not believable and certainly it creates UNREASONABLE doubt.
Police and prosecutors are taking their time and turning the screws.

That is utterly ridiculous. And then there is the DNA found on the seats that were removed from the truck and the altering of the license plates. I would like to know his excuses for these things.

Why does he keep getting bail? Seems like he is a huge flight risk.

Now they found the murder weapon, a hunting switch blade.

He's one sicko, but possibly they are waiting to see what other mistakes he makes.

I can't believe Dulos thought he would get away with it. It wasn't even a good plan.

I will point out that this story doesn't indicate a knife was found. They found a story about a knife that may have been used.

I was just talking to my mom about this; she lives in New Canaan. She said she heard some attorney say that based on Times his car was spotted, Dulos spent an extra 20 minutes somewhere in New Canaan than he would need to if he were driving straight from her house to the highway. So my mom thinks the body might be in New Canaan. She sent in a tip to the NC PD pretty soon after the disappearance re a demolition site on the route b/t Dulos’s home and the highway; doesn’t know if it was followed up on. Is going to go check the site out with my dad tomorrow.
