I'm pretty sure the PP was wondering why they drink so much overall. They're always drinking no matter the occasion, no matter the yome of day, and to excess.

Charleston is apparently a drinking city and many on the show are just outright lushes- Shep, who had to cut back on his intake per doctor's orders, being the prime example.

My SIL is from old Southern money & current money, her family & friends drink more than anyone other "type" of people I know.

Hopefully that it is, but i know Thomas has a brother with some sort of disability and Thomas is a pretty old dad too. They aren't the kind of people who could co-parent a child with special needs.

IMO, I think some things they're inclined to sweep under the rug. Kinda like the whole, Thomas never had a paternity test done thing, even after it's been speculated that one or both kids aren't actually his.
