+1 all because they don’t want to be rezoned to Rocky Run and then go on to Oakton with hardly any peers? I see. So it’s ok for other schools except crossfield to be split at middle schools. |
Walney Oaks is a rich neighborhood off of Walney Road. They are a natural candidate to be moved to Westfield and they were actually proposed to be moved at the previous boundary changes, but some mom made BFF with Reid at the community meeting. She not only got her neighborhood to stay at Chantilly by misrepresenting how close they are to Chantilly (I seriously doubt they can hear the Chantilly band), but also rezoned from Franklin to Rocky Run |
| Rocky Run is right next to Chantilly. Kids zoned to RR should all go to Chantilly (And I think now they do, except for the AAP kids). |
What streets are they? just curious about where they are on a map. I guess they didn't get moved in any of the three new scenarios? |
If Westfield needs UMC kids, it makes sense to move this area over. |
Most Navy kids go to Oakton, nitwit. So you want Oakton kids to go to a Chantilly feeder school? Ok got it. Why don’t you put your Crossfield kids at Carson which is going to be a Skyview feeder? Same thing. You don’t want to go to a middle school that doesn’t feed to your high school and neither do we. |
Yes but there is one scenario that has Oakton kids feeding into Rocky Run and then back to Oakton. |
Eagle Chase Circle Dr. area |
| I wonder if Westfield would have enough students to be viable with adding in the balance of Cub Run that should be moved + Walney Oaks. If that's a few hundred kids, it would put them right around 2000. |

They could. And perhaps the county saw that as an easy win to resolve a MS split feeder. Inconvenient that it doesn't fit the narrative that this whole mess is Crossfield's fault. |
+1 ripple effects, like I said. |
Crossfield originally fed Franklin before being moved to Carson. The Crossfield boundary is large and for better or worse many MS and HS are clumped in areas that are either West or East. Carson is 4.9 miles from Crossfield and Franklin is 5 miles. Distance isn't a rationale for one MS over the other so FCPS will look toward the other criteria they have outlined in 8130. |
1) look at a map, Franklin makes sense for resolving split feeders, and yes feeding Oakton 2) this is a blatant lie that keeps getting repeated by some troll(s) who is not connected with reality |
