I’m Jewish and I wouldn’t trust ANYTHING the Brandeis Center says when it comes to charges of anti-semitism. I am familiar with the situation at universities they charged with anti-semitism and they systematically lied about and exaggerated the situation including in some cases smearing Jewish faculty who disagreed with them
I’m not saying this Nysmith School is in the right (don’t know anything about them) but I do know the Brandeis Center and, again, they are NOT trustworthy The Brandeis Center is not affiliated with Brandeis University or with the original Louis Brandeis who was a great man. |
| ^^ this. Plus the current families defending the school, makes me think the entire thing is fabricated. |
Hardly- he handled it efficiently and swiftly. He tried to work with this family but they have been unreasonable for years. The sheer existence of students who were sympathetic to Palestine bothered this family. They were a complete nightmare. |
Oh yeah OK PP. Just like St. Albans, Georgetown Prep and all the others too right? Your envy and jealousy are overflowing |
Not necessarily. We got literally the same response from a different school director we raised a safety issue. Some of these private school directors take things extremely personally and will kick you out because they can’t handle criticism of themselves or the school. |
“ I don’t actually know anything about the situation but I know the school must be right because it fits so nicely with my worldview”. |
Sure, sunshine. Vague hand-waving that this family is just mean and hates Palestine are way more convincing than the actual recounted events. The HOS handled it in a way that was cruel to a child. He also said explicitly that he canceled a Holocaust memorial event due to the Gaza war. Neither of these events are a political commentary. Children should be treated kindly and Holocaust education should not be up for debate. All available evidence strongly supports his dickhood. |
| The school just settled for $100,000 (plus 45k in attorneys fees): https://brandeiscenter.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/2025-11-17-_-Nysmith-School-Agreement-_-Fully-executed.pdf. The school also agreed to overhaul their non-discrimination policies and provide antisemitism training. Seems like the case was plenty meritorious. |
| Wow. As a Jewish family, we will stay in way from Nysmith, even though our HOS suggested we consider it our child. Sounds like a horrible place to send a Jewish kid to school. |
Dang. Yeah a settlement like speaks pretty loudly. |
+1. |
Disagree strongly. I know it’s board members and its work well. There is a list of successful anti-semitism cases that Brandeis has brought against colleges and universities, often with pro bono help from Arnold & Porter and other biglaw firms. It successfully brought an acation against my alma mater, Occidental (which it deserved after 14 Jewish students left out of fear) and got a settlement. Nys ith settled for $100k; a school doesn’t do that readily unless warranted. Tell us - precisely - what the Center has done wrong or poorly. Not the slanderous garbage you wrote above but precise complaints with evidence and dates. |
For Jews today, Traumatic Invalidation emerges when Jewish safety concerns are minimized, mocked, or ignored. Seems that is happening here. Jews aren’t believed when they say they are discriminated against. They are accused of being difficult or making things up. |
Maybe they were a nightmare to an antizionist who is part of the racist and genocidal antizionist hate movement that seeks to destroy Israel and to purge Jews as “Zionists” from diaspora societies. |
Oh please. 🙄 As Zionists took pleasure in destroying everything in Gaza, including 60,000 innocent children and civilians under the guise that they’re Hamas. No one wants to purge Jews or Zionists, we just want you to stop perpetrating genocide against a people so that you can steal their lands. |
