I suspect they thought the enrollment would be higher and more religious. Look at the Falcon Academy. Much emphasis on religion. |
With $20K tuition and endowments it could have worked. But you can only bring the horse to the water as the saying goes…. |
Maybe, the Saudis are moving in a different direction. When they purchased this site, women were not allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia. Now they are. Maybe, they no longer see the need to isolate the community. |
These sound like trolls hating. I don’t think KAA parents are doing this. Well if they are that’s disappointing. We’ve sent our kids to KAA so that they would learn their religion properly which states not to discriminate. So why would Muslims say anything about building maintenance? It doesn’t make sense. No one person is better than the next unless they are willingly committing crime. Clearly some people from the non KAA community isn’t happy with this deal. That’s not on us.

Go back and read some of the posts here and you will see that’s exactly what they are doing. Not sure why they would expect any sympathy on a public school forum if that’s how they think of public schools and their students. |
That comment is kind of telling, isn’t it? They don’t see themselves as part of the local community and don’t seem to want to be. |
I think you have very limited knowledge on ho me women live in Saudi and all info based on mainstream media. The Saudi women have been business women and owners of property from a very long time since the start of Islam in-fact, Muslim women had the right to divorce in the 7th century, predating women’s right to divorce across many cultures. Women are also encouraged not to change their last names once married to take on their husbands’ last names (unlike the western culture), so that women can maintain their own identity. Yes, maybe Saudi has a different vision now, but they should have worked with the community to find a solution. But when the owner wants to sell to a specific person only, what can others do?

Everyone wants to pick apart every word of a sentence. Community can literally mean a small body of people with a larger group of people. If you have departments at work, each department is its own community in a way given you have a shared common goal which should align and uplift the overall company vision. It’s very simple. Why make it complicated?

I don’t know why you guys are going on about all of this?! Dems are always excited about new projects until they drop the ball. Wait till school choice becomes a thing in this area - I hope Trump will at least get that done before his time is up. |
You do understand that school choice is a state issue and not a national issue? The Federal Government doesn't have a say on school choice. |
Someone hasn’t read the reconciliation bill proposal that gives tax breaks for tuition. You’ve pulled the wool firmly over your eyes. Btw, it being a state issue not local issue makes vouchers infinitely more likely, especially in a nuclear boundary change environment. |
How are states influenced by federal? You can’t be that naive to think they don’t impact one another? Surely not?! |
The deal also includes two office buildings. Great news for FCPS. |
They could use those building for additional classrooms if needed or even turn the buildings into specialized programs for kids with more serious learning issues. All sorts of possibilities. |
The boundary study all but guarantees school choice in FCPS. But it is needed nation wide. |
Will be a Federal issue once this bill is signed into law - https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/833/text |
