And kids are collateral damage because they don't just "move on."

Agree, but you are describing most or at least many children of big celebrities. Not sure why people are so particularly outraged over this scenario. Overall it seemed like a pretty non contentious divorce (unlike most celebrities that announce the separation, and then the divorce drags out, their divorce was finalized before they made the announcement that they were splitting).

And they both have experience dealing with blended families and did that successfully — seemed like Bridget and Giselle were quite close during the years of raising his firstborn son.

Divorce is tough, but this one could be a lot worse. I’m looking at you, Brad and Angelina.

PP here. I work with kids every day in a large public school system. The Pitt Jolie mess does seem worse, but I am disgusted with the spoiled, self-centered behavior of so many parents in today's world. Too many are basically doing what they want, with little concern for their kids' emotional needs.

That’s fair. But to be a celebrity usually means you’re pretty narcissistic and used to the world revolving around you so not altogether surprising that these are the couples that don’t stick it out for the kids (in addition to having tons of money and romantic options.)

I don’t like the misogyny towards Giselle for having another baby in her 40s, but in Tom’s defense I will say the dissolution of the marriage didn’t seem to be his choice (though I imagine putting his career first for a decade didn’t help things on the home front.)

She looks amazing as usual.

Amazing? Each to his own. More like barefoot, unwed, and pregnant like poor women in the 1930's with no options.

Even though I am not against having a baby out of wedlock, I am surprised that she is doing so because she is Catholic. I think it would be rough as a teen dealing with both mom's new boyfriend and a baby sibling.

I thought she was a little bit better. I have no doubt she is regretting blowing up their marriage. So what, let him play football as long as he wasn't cheating. He's aging out as it is. She would have one intact family under one roof. Now this new baby will be going back and forth. And who knows if the kids, or all of the kids will accept this. I've seen where they don't, and view the visiting child as an unwelcomed guest.

She doesn't want Tom. She doesn't have to stay with a man in sake of keeping the family under one house. Those views are antiquated views

I could see them saying Gisele is having second thoughts about the baby but not the divorce. That relationship is dead as she wants.

+2. That marriage was dead years before. She wanted out. Have you watched her interviews? I don't see any regret in blowing up that marriage at all.

From either of them but I do think Tom would have kept it together for the kids.

Why didn’t Tom try to make it work with Bridget? He had just met Gisele. It’s not like they were deeply in love at that time.

He didn’t even give it a go with the mother of his first child.

Clearly, Gisele didn't care if another woman and her child were hurt.

Hurt by Tom.

Not surprised the marriage failed. Shocked it lasted as long as it did, I think they were just living separate lives throughout his football career.

Tom is now experiencing what Bridget had to - watching your ex move on and have a baby with someone else. Karma.

Tom is probably banging a different woman every night. Men don't fantasize about having more kids. Zero jealousy there
