Actually, I care and I'm not a royal watcher. Look more closely. The lawn is a verdant green and the tree is green (it's still dreary in England and the trees haven't even budded). Her head looks photoshopped on. There is a misalignment in Princess Charlotte's hands; Prince Charlotte's pink cardigan is cut off at the wrist; Kate's knees don't look right; Prince Louis is missing a fingertip (unless it's folded under); a section of the tiles are blurred; and of course, Kate's engagement ring and wedding band are missing.

An overseas news outlet noted that it's from an earlier Mother's Day, which would account for the green grass and tree.

I'm interested because something is up and the palace is covering. THAT is newsworthy.

Exactly. AP has their guidelines on their site. they're fine with minor touchups. They have posted the family's other pictures that are altered. This one had so much manipulation that it had to be removed. That is a big deal.
