Will your child wear a mask when they go back to school?

Interesting. In FCPS hardly anyone is wearing masks (kids or teachers).

You were able to extrapolate anecdata pulled straight from your butt?

You're cute when you're angry. No, it's not hard to look at a room full of 20 people and count that 15 are masked and do the very simple math. Do that for every room and it's not hard. Apparently it is for you.

And all the kids whose parents didn’t drag them to the open house won’t be wearing them. Only the Karen’s force their kids to go to this.

There's a group of posters who seem to be in the employ of the far-right and try to sew grassroots support for their wacky agenda. They're definitely a small but vocal minority.

MOCO is definitely a bubble. At our McLean schools only about 10% max wore masks at open house. According to my kids, one or two kids in each class are wearing them and very few teachers. No one seems to care who is and who isn’t. The vitriol in this forum about masking isn’t normal. And McLean is hardly a hot bed of right wing grassroots efforts.

As a non classroom teacher whose Open House job was to direct traffic in our elementary school hallways, I have to say my experience was very different. At my school, it was more like 15-20% wearing masks. Looking around at our staff this week, probably about 70% were wearing them.
It’s very interesting to see where everyone is with this.
FWIW, neither I nor my kids will be wearing them right now.

I think they are the minions of the MD Republican Gubernatorial nominee, Dan Cox. Trump endorsed, anti mask.

What about all the liberals no longer masking? Are they switching parties?

I’m willing to bet there are large variations based on geography alone. Our downcounty ES was about 50/50.

That’s awesome to hear- we missed our open house due to travel but 75% mask usage sounds wonderful.

It'd be nice if you learned proper English before insulting other people. All the anti-maskers are so salty and hateful when people think differently than they do. Maybe learn empathy or just mind your own business. "Dragging them to open house?" Sorry that people care about their children? Most kids were super eager to be there.... You sound truly awful. Maybe take some time to reflect instead of posting on DCUM because there is...a lot you could obviously use some help on.

If there was a school that prohibited mask wearing I’d be all in. The damage done to kids by the neurotic people who foisted this nonsense on liberal areas will last a lifetime.

You can. Remove your child from school and homeschool them. You sound absolutely insufferable, so you'd be saving many people from having the unfortunate circumstance of being your presence.

I just got back from a few days and southern New England. Not exactly Trump country. I could have counted the number of people wearing masks on one hand. I mentioned to some people while up there that people in the DC area are still advocating for kids wearing masks in school, and they looked at me like I had 3 heads.

Most kids are excited to find out who will be in their class and see their friends again. I never had to drag my kids, they begged to go.
