Bullet hits BH Skyline

A bullet came through a window today at my baby's daycare. Is it irrational to keep him home tomorrow?

Yes.

I'm sorry this happened OP. I'm glad everyone is okay. It's scary world, but we can't live in a cocoon.

From a completely rational standpoint, without considering emotion:

What is the difference between tomorrow and every other day? If you are going to switch daycares, sure. But if not, what good will be accomplished by keeping him home tomorrow?

It's not rational but it IS reasonable. Nothing is likely to happen tomorrow (rational/logic), but it's reasonable to indulge your worries/emotions and enjoy a day at home with the baby. Take a 3 day weekend and let your nerves settle. So sorry, that is scary!

Are you kidding? I would not be sending my kid back there until they have the shooter locked up and the reason fully explained...if EVER.

LOL. It sounds like you'd never send your kid back there, because the odds of tracking something like that down (never mind prosecuting, convicting, and imprisoning the suspect) are basically zero. Thank our rabid gun culture for that.

I'm sorry are you guys trolling? Who would send their child to a day care center that just got shot at???

Someone with no other child care options who can't afford to quit their job while they're on waiting lists other places? Someone who understands it likely was a random stray bullet and could happen in any neighborhood, including the next child care they might choose?

Statistically, the most dangerous parts of a child's day are the parts s/he spends in a car. The odds of dying in a car crash as a child are much, much higher than odds of dying from gunfire in a daycare.

Wow. That's really scary, OP. I'm glad everyone is ok.

Oh, wow, that's scary, and I'm so glad everyone is okay.

I would stay home. Just take some time to calm down, relax, and feel better. Come Tuesday, you'll feel better about it all.

I totally agree. NP.

Are there any current BH parents on this thread? We're moving next month and my child is supposed to start here, but I'm...speechless basically. How are you guys coping? Do you plan to stay or switch to somewhere else?
