| My child would never go back. I would quit my job and SAH if I couldn't find another childcare provider. |

I can provide an update. I started my child at BH Skyline recently and have been very happy with the center. I feel that the office park where the facility is located is quiet and safe. Some of these posts make it sound like a horrible neighborhood, but I don't feel that way at all -- it's just a quiet, suburban office park. There is some foot traffic in the area because there are a lot of shops and housing nearby, but there aren't people walking by BH all day. The playground outside has a section for little kids, one for big kids, and one for tricycle riding. There is a bakery that specializes in cream puffs across from it. It does not feel dangerous to me at all. A close friend of mine has an infant at BH Skyline who was there during the shooting incident. She decided to keep the child there based on the management's response to the incident. The BH management organized conference calls with the police and director to update the parents on the investigation and situation. The management put in new security measures. They never found any evidence that the shooting was anything but an isolated incident, and nothing like this has happened since then. Sadly, this could have happened at any daycare, preschool, office, store, or house in the United States -- but fortunately, it is unlikely. As another poster said, driving to and from the childcare center is far more dangerous than being there. Skyline has been great for us so far. My child's main teacher is competent and kind, as are the others I have met. My child looks forward to going there and doesn't get upset at dropoff or pickup. The food is great (provided by the Good Food Company, which is the standard at most of the comparable schools and daycares we toured). It is clean and they keep the kids busy (sometimes I even laugh at the sheer number of activities my child has done in a single day). I get photos of my child in the BH app pretty much every day. The kids all seem happy. The management is nice. My friend who recommended it has had her child there for over a year and has no plans to leave. My complaints so far: Sometimes dropoff and pickup takes longer than I'd like since I need to go into the classroom and put my child's things into a cubby, the teachers work in shifts, so sometimes the main teacher isn't there for dropoff or pickup (although this makes sense so that the teachers aren't working ten-hour days), and the playground is astroturf and not real grass. But, none of these things are dealbreakers for us. Overall, we are happy at Skyline and would recommend it. I hope this helps. |
