Mariah Carey's performance in Times Square

I was expecting to see a post about her god awful lack there of performance. Although there were some technical difficulties, was she drunk too?

I applaud her for trying to keep going after dealing with many problems! Many other people would have run off the stage.

OMG, it was so embarrassing. I don't know why she didn't just sing along as best she could. She didn't even try. Maybe she really couldn't hear?? She must have been drunk, that's all I got. Kudos to her back up dancers. They did a great job of keeping the choreo going and even trying to help out Mariah.

The lead choreo guy that I recognize from watching her reality show deserves a raise. More than once he had to grab her up and keep her from failing harder than she already was.

It's clear she was rooting around for her earpiece and it wasn't there. I don't think she could hear the music well at all and they were playing the wrong track.

I don't get this ear piece thing. Everyone else can hear the music like the dancers, the audience, the back up singers, etc so why couldn't Mariah? Is that an excuse lip synchers use to cover themselves?

It's her own song so she honestly couldnt sing the lyrics without the music...????? Hec, I free form sing songs all the time without music and I'm just a commoner.

She has to hear the recording before the folks in stage do to match the transit time.

She was a true talent, maybe paste her prime and maybe a hot mess but not a fake.

She screwed up her Christmas performance last year (or maybe it was two years ago)...why does Mariah keep getting booked? She can't sing anymore, and hasn't done anything other than lip sync over the last decade.

I think she's getting into acting. She was in a Hallmark Christmas movie that I saw recently.
