I assume Mariah still likes to perform b/c she certainly doesn't need the money.

Maybe you didn't rely on back up singers b/c you didn't actually have any PP? There wouldn't be any point in singing the hell out of the song when they're playing the wrong track, but I'm sure you would have done lots better than Mariah.

Srsly? This post is now about me and how much I suck? Ok u r right. This was the performance of her life and she seemed really into it, really committed-a real pro. She owned that stage with a presence never before seen and with her agile and catlike moves her body is in the shape of her life. I would say she is poised for a comeback but she's been topping the charts nonstop for more than 20 years straight! No problems here, folks-carry on!

It is completely different during an outdoor concert in a huge venue. This isn't your high school auditorium. The performers can't hear a thing without those ear pieces.

Her outfit was awful, but even at her worst she's a great singer. There is a high chance she was either lip syncing or using a backing vocal to boost her sound, because not even a superstar can sing outside in freezing temperatures. On GMA this morning the news anchors basically said this. That her ear piece wasn't working and she could not hear anything. Didn't know what pitch or which vocals she should be singing.

Yes, it certainly can and does happen.

But the more important question here is: WHY did it happen?

I suspect sabotage; probably hacking. Russian involvement would not surprise me in the least.

One thing that stands out to me is ABC or possibly Dick Clark Productions owns that video. Think about how quickly SNL is able to shut down content that it doesn't want viewed. Hell, if you want to see a replay you need to be watching it by Sunday or Monday before it's taken down.

If ABC/DCP is allowing this to be viewed and hasn't exercised its right to shut it down, is that to make MC look bad? Because the fault is on production and not her?

Was ABC/DCP not at fault and thus they're happy to continue letting it sit there to make her look bad?

I hate the 'no pants ' costumes that performers wear now. It started with Beyoncé at the SuperBowl years ago and has unfortunately continued.
It looks like they only half dressed for the show.

23:14 - I'm not the one who posted the side-by-side pics but a lot of us haven't changed that dramatically from our 20's to our 40's. I'm 44 and weigh within 10 lbs of what I did at 22 (or 18, for that matter) and I've had kids. Let's face it, Mariah is pretty much on record saying she likes to eat and doesn't like to exercise. Which would be fine if she didn't try to pour herself into skimpy costumes that don't fit or flatter. She should just buy some clothes that fit her comfortably - she certainly has the money to do so - and people wouldn't feel the need to post those pics.

The fault lies squarely on the shoulders of the Russians for stealing MC's show for some reason.

I blame the whole no pants costumes on Beyonce. She wears the leotard costumes so J. Lo and Mariah follow. J.Lo can pull it off though. Mariah not so much. Plus Mariah wears heels that she clearly can barely walk in. She just needs to disappear until late November of every year, then come out to remind us of her Christmas song. Then go away after December 25.
