I just picked up a copy of Fierce, Free, and Full of Fire from a used book store and read it. Some good stuff and some cringeworthy stuff for sure. But Jen points out that she's an Enneagram 3 and that when 3s are at their worst, they're basically shilling, crazy spotlight hogs at the expense of all others to try and find their footing. By her own standard, she's floundering badly. This is the kind of situation that is prime for her to read the mean comments and consider suicide. And then if you posted a mean comment, you'd have that to deal with. By all means, hold her accountable and call out the garbage. But stay on this side of the mean line.

Yup look at the Dave Hollis snarkers who were thrown into an existential crisis when he died. Most of the comments here outside of the Uber scorned Christian ladies don’t seem very mean though. They’re calling out grifting, lies and immoral behavior. If Jen is mentally unwell and floundering, she needs to admit that if she wants support. She needs to take accountability or go private. I guess we could all just completely ignore her as another option but that’s the human flaw in us - we are fascinated by a car crash.

Anyway, as Malala said this morning, act with kindness.

Whoa I find this take to be a touch manipulative. I hate how people confuse challenging Jen's toxic positivity - which she chooses to engage in - with bullying or unkindness. Jen isn't worried that her fake online persona, in which she is constantly adored by a circle of friends that would drop everything for her, would cause someone to feel so isolated and depressed that they would consider suicide. Why is it the public's responsibility to indulge Jen and her fragile ego?

Brandon had all kids at a family weekend. Maybe that’s why her weekend was the best ever.

Jen has chosen this public, fake, predatory business model that preys on the insecurities of vulnerable women.
She indulges in it and profits from it.

If push back and criticism bothers her she has the option of, I don’t know, not doing it anymore? I think 99% of us would gladly depart from the board and others if she became a normal person not content to target vulnerable women.

Yup. I have no qualms about saying that she and Tyler are predators. If she were to end her life, it would be tragic for her loved ones but why should the public that she’s done nothing but manipulate take responsibility for that???

Does Tyler have any black friends? Does Jen have any black friends?

At least Jen has essentially left the church and is not profiting directly off of a congregation.

Is ANC still around?

Is this the super mean comment?

Everytime Big Sis sees a Magnolia Magazine at the local HEB or sees a Property Brothers commercial on HGTV an angel gets its wings.

Jen has Black acquaintances but no Black people in her closest inner circles. Tyler shares Jen’s affinity for being besties with White women. Check Jen’s posts where she shows pictures from meeting Tyler’s inner circle.

Shame on both of them! Shame on Jen (and Brandon) for adopting Black children while having at most, a coworker and a hairdresser be the closest Black people they know. And shame on Tyler for claiming to be a Black activist while doing the bare minimum if anything to advance Black causes - just slopping up Jen’s White lady leftovers.

Oh and if you think I’m being “mean”, tough.

I don't see a super mean comment recently. Surely she's not talking about the one mentioning Property Brothers and Angels getting their wings.

Agree, not even close big sis. And please with her outfits? Who is dressing her, doing her loud make up and trashy hair? Is she going for trailer park Texas? Because that’s what her style screams. What has happened to this woman? It’s been over 2 years big sis, get over it. And the ME sex course, are you joking? You refrained from sex for years with your own husband and now you are selling dildos and giving sex talks. Who are you?

It’s still around running on fumes. Tray is still there, amazingly, same with Jason Morris. A huge amount of the old guard is gone, though, even the ones who stuck around after becoming affirming, like we did for about a year. Brandon is never there from what we hear and Jen only sometimes for holidays and the occasional sermon.

It’s sort of affiliated with the UMC now who sort of let it do it’s thing which is sort of being a church and music venue.

A lot of people leave ANC nowadays not for its posture on LGTBQ+ etc. but more due to ironically a lack of community and Jason’s teaching which is all over the place. My husband and I called it Jason’s Choose Your Own Faith Journey Adventure. It gets old real fast.

I personally couldn’t trust a Pastor that wears a hat like that, it just screams douche canoe. seriously I did try and listen to some of ANC sermons but I was confused by the message. He alluded to fact he was “traumatized by evangelical purity culture “ of course. Just seems to me victim mentality is dominant factor in his messages but maybe I’m wrong.

Hat video reference, this “sermon” sounds like a Jen self help seminar

Yeah a lot of that. It just feels like Jason is personally working through a lot all the time. Which is fine but sometimes it gets a little old and can feel self indulgent.

He’s definitely a Jen apostle. And the hat thing is relatively new. He didn’t wear anything like that when we were there. It’s like he’s trying to brand himself or something. These folks are always posing and no one seems comfortable in their skin. Like Brandon becoming a biker.
