Are pajamas a good Christmas gift?

Anonymous
I'm struggling with what to get some family members this year because they don't really need anything. A friend suggested winter pjs, but I wanted to solicit opinions here. I don't think it's a bad idea, but clothing is also a matter of personal taste. Thoughts?

Are you buying these gifts for adults?

Depends. Kids don't like getting PJs. Getting them for your FIL is weird. Mom and grandma, ok. Sister ok if she's into that stuff.

I appreciate warm winter pjs. Check out PJ Salvage for funny prints. Nordstrom Rack sometimes sells PJ Salvage on discount.

I also appreciate warm slippers.

Make sure they are pajamas with the integral teddy bear hoodie.

If you are exchanging gifts with adults, why not ask if they'd rather skip gift giving or do charitable donations?

I get my mother a new set of pjs every year and it's what she wants. It's nice to have a fresh set, so I think most appreciate them.

OP. It's a mix - a cousin, his wife, and kids (teen son and two daughters under 10). They usually get us random practical stuff (toiletries, kitchen gadgets, etc.). We see them on holidays, but aren't super close otherwise.

OP again. Not a bad idea.

I always ask my mom to get my kids PJ's every year. Hannah Anderson has really nice ones that are on sale. They make adult ones too.

If you KNOW what they like and their size, yeah. If you don't know those things, avoid them like the plague.

I like it, although I recommend buying somewhere that is easy for the recipient to exchange if the size or style isn't their preference.

Get matching pajamas for the whole family.

Joking. Sorry I couldn't resist. But I did get a young family member the death Vader onesie from Target as a Christmas present.

Are you sure they all wear pajamas? Or would they just end up going to Goodwill? If you're not close enough to ask a fairly intimate question like that, I'd go with the charity idea someone else mentioned.

Also, what about coffee or beer or wine? I love to get gifts like that.

I would love to get some pretty, warm new jammies as a gift! I think the wife and daughters will appreciate but not sure about the husband and teen son. May want to go with something else for them. Hopefully more suggestions will be forthcoming.

Slippers would be a bonus if you do go with this idea. I think you're very thoughtful.
