| Yikes I hope this isnt true but they did set themselves up to fail...we left also |
|
Even if offered a full mea culpa, with being completely sponsored, we would not return. The rate at which the program has fallen off is disturbing. Our experience was amazing, and it literally changed overnight and was steadily and progressively worsening with each month this past year.
Every decision the club (and DD's coach) has made this past year seemed counterproductive and irrational. And because of that, every single one of us have left. I'm not moved one way or the other if they have to close the doors. For those seeking a travel program to become a NCAA student athlete, I have no idea why you're there still. For those just seeking fun, I have no qualms but you shouldn't be participating in CCL. Some of the coaches (who are also directors) were smart enough to remove their team from CCL to play NCSL and were better off for it. Other coaches (who were also directors) are driven by their ego and refuse to face reality. |
Agree except for the fact that you seem to think anyone is responsible except for LB. Every decision is her doing. |
not pp; there's plenty more responsible. |
PP here; I do. I'll say that yes, LB is the driving force behind much of it, but there's still plenty of blame to go around. |
I found it strange that I heard some distain with LB and the direction of the club but in the townhall she was clearly deflecting questions parents asked her to JN and LC. While I think the buck stops at her someone might be gearing her towards the new club direction. Just an observation. |
| The problem with LB is that no one wants to work with her because she is rigid. Which is problematic when recruiting coaches, etc. LMVSC needs to merge with Gunston. |
| We've had enough change. Let's keep everything the same for at least a season and see how it works out. We're still relatively new to travel soccer but I pay just as much money as the super kids out there. I'm happy with some consistency for a little while, and I'm not worried about having a smaller roster because it means my kid can play more. |
Merger won't happen because Gunston board doesn't like her. And rigid is a kind description from what former employees have said. She is unethical, uninformed, and incompetent in all manners of running the club. The only things that have ever gone right there are the results of directors and/or coaches preventing her from getting her way. Problem is she then retaliates because she can't admit being wrong. |
Can the club change management, she doesn't own the club, does she? She needs to retired. But to be honest, the Club has financially survived thanks to all those scholarship kids they get. Most clubs have caps on financial aid but they let anyone in just to get a check! |

As the parent of a previous blue player (we became white team), I think it's a refreshing take on youth sports. We used to, like every club in the area, spend too much time caring only for the red team or the best players. With this new model, I feel confident and very good that white team players and blue team players will get just as many resources as the red team players. We grade school subjects on a curve, why not treat youth soccer players on a curve?
I'm just happy that we're finally going to be balancing out resources and attention. Our uniforms are blue and white, we should be focusing on them

Typical non profit bs. Elected board members but no actual elections, by-laws written to make dismissal impossible, conflicts of interest on the board. There's a reason nobody lasts there. They see it and run once they understand it. Gotta wonder why the current staff hasn't seen the light yet. |
because they don't care. as said previously, plenty of blame to go around. you really think older red team coaches care? no, and if there were white/blue teams in those ages they would ensure there was no academy. i'm sure some of the coaches care, and are good people. but overall... no. it's a paycheck. |
Agreed; however, I think we'll be playing some red games this year. Apparently more players left this year (coupling with the academy plan), but I'm sure it'll only be for the far away games. |
+1 and must admit, the 'elitism' from "some of the teams" hopefully starts to recede; i don't care if we're considered elite or not and tbh i'd prefer not. you don't want to be part of this community club, bye bye |
