Why is Blake Lively so overrated?

Justin’s TedTalk should be taken down or relabeled. Wonder if Hoover disgusted how well he played the role she wrote in movie version and in TedTalk described as, “An outspoken feminist, Justin Baldoni has been doubling down on his efforts to start a dialogue with men to redefine masculinity.” That a PR firm was hired to protect him victim by “burying” women…. And hate on BL if want, the complaint has them actively identifying other women and targeting them. I give BL credit to bring forward as she has $ to just walk away and the other women likely don’t have the $ to make it through legal process.

This so on-brand.I'd expect nothing more from her. It will be a sad day in hell if i ever spend a dollar watching any movie she's featured in.

Reading the comments on here about this interview, I was ready to dislike Blake Lively, but I actually watched the clip and my god if the interviewer wanted to “quit” after that, then she has an extremely thin skin and a
should not in fact be doing celebrity interviews.

Yes. I can’t believe everyone is falling so blatantly for the initial efforts of the crisis PR firm Baldoni hired. It’s pathetic. He obviously leaked the story about the fat shaming and got the pissed off interviewer from 8 years ago to repost that. It’s kind of pathetic. If, as a director, your whole cast hates you, you f*cked up. I don’t care if you had good motives or seem to be a nice enough guy, whatever happened, every single person in the cast sided against the director. That’s insane and not an accident. He then hired a crisis PR firm. Come on now.

This from August 15 aged really well.

I remember reading that. Some of the comments in here are so unhinged and vicious just because they don't like her. But it's good to see it all coming out now. Whatever you think of Blake what possible defense can there be of this petty vindictive 40yr old man?

I think he was protecting himself because he realized the power she has to ruin him. Looks like she is trying. I just do not see how any of this is good for her. The difficult part is hard to get away from. I remember Katherine from Greys Anatomy. She was labeled difficult and then barely seen. He will also be ruined so neither wins. There are so many actors that any hint of difficulty and you are toast.

There is a difference between protecting himself and saying he wants to bury her. Thats unhinged. There is no context where that's ever okay.

The context is that she made a 90% spurious claim of sexual harassment that he thought he had resolved. Then a whole year later she and her minions start to publicly ice him out right when all eyes were on him - and also start to plant their own stories (remember the story about Ryan Renolds rewriting the script?) So he panicked and responded as he did. Whether or not this would legally be held to be retaliation or defamation I do not know but doesn’t look great for him.

90% spurious? Based on what?

based on my experience as a plaintiffs lawyer and 5 decades of being a woman. I read the complaint and my impression is that Baldoni is a weirdo and Heath possibly a bit creepy but I’m not sure either of them did anything that far outside the norm for filming sex scenes. I also know that this happened right when Hollywood was transitioning to a more structured approach (ie intimacy coordinators). And some of the complaints she makes sound totally spurious. Others if she has witnesses are stronger (like Heath refusing to leave her trailer when she was naked) BUT may also be normal for Hollywood.

Ok. So you just have an opinion but no facts. Thanks for playing.

?? oh I see Blake’s team is here working hard on Sunday morning lol.

Honey all we have to go on is fact as alleged in the complaint. If you have a detailed analysis of whether the facts as alleged are severe & pervasive compared to the case law let’s see it.

Blake's team lol. Get real. We're just not blind to what's happening

Anonymous wrote:Also, a tiktoker I like was invited to a recent event for Lively’s hair brand. The influencer said she was nervous to meet Lively and blurted out to her: everyone tells me we sound alike. Lively replied: I don’t know what I sound like. The influencer said she was way too embarrassed to attend the second event Lively’s brand invited her to. This is the kind of person Blake Lively is and it’s why social media so easily turned against her.

Wow. That must have been so awful for her. Is she ok? At least the person wasn't subjected to conversations about Blake's porn addiction and other uncomfortable conversations like Baldoni likes to engage in.

Am I missing something? What was so bad about that exchange between Lively and the influencer?

You mean the reporter?

I didn’t believe it at the time and assumed something like this was behind it.

Yes, she looks courageous now. Good for her.

Same. She's a mean girl but so are many celebrities. Why in the world were people acting like she kicked their puppy?!

interesting to read this post now:

https://www.laineygossip.com/why-has-justin-baldoni-hired-crisis-management-team-when-blake-lively-is-tiktoks-number-1-villain-amid-it-ends-with-us-mess/78723

if the timeline is correct it sounds like Lively was getting panned online and criticized for missteps promoting the movie well BEFORE Baldoni started the defensive PR campaign. so it seems like a sort of perfect storm may have happened where Nathan was able to ride the wave of pre-existing Lively hate. I share the confusion about why Lively herself did not engage in better proactive PR during this time and instead seemed to be targeting Baldoni (the coordinated social media freeze-out, refusing to appear with him, planning stories about Ryan Renolds rewriting the script)?

I almost wonder if it was a panic reaction. It’s hard to think straight if you are being targeted and harassed by an obsessed man. She just wanted to get away from him.

Except the timeline doesn’t support that theory. the timeline supports Baldoni reacting in panic when Lively started her campaign against him. (note: I think Baldoni’s conduct could still be legally considered retaliation for her prior complaint but the timeline works against her IMO).

Everything “viral” on the internet is fake, including all the pro Blake Lively crap in this thread. Nobody really cares about a dime a dozen 40-something washed up D list actress.

Interesting how the marketing plan was to focus on the reslience of the character and not on the domestic violence and to have Blake wear a flowered theme to reflect the character's work as a florist and then they used their own marketing plan against her to make her look shallow by not being serious and focused on the domestic violence themes.

This guy and the team he hired seem pretty sociopathic.

I also saw that the women who reposted the baby bump video where Blake made a comment was paid to repost it on a specific date by the crisis team Baldoni hired.

In fairness, people reacted negatively because that was a poorly thought out and executed marketing plan.
