This is me. Love the description - but it's wrong on all counts. |
You and your husband own your own business together, something along the lines or organizational management. You have the stereotypical colonial with a white picket fence, and you love to garden. You were a very competitive field hockey player when you were younger, and both boys are great athletes. |
You partied most of your way through college and wound up engaged to a douchebag named Scott who you first met at a frat party. He was a business major but decided to go to law school after graduation while you found a job at an association in the city with a lobbying arm. Your engagement went on a year and then three more years, as you became increasingly bitter at your friends who actually seemed to be happy in their relationships. Three months before the wedding was finally going to happen you broke down and ended it. It was the most liberating thing you ever did. You bought a house all on your own and joined match.com. You went on two lame dates and were about to give up when you met your future husband. He's sort of a monster of a guy. Huge hands, huge head, tall, but not fat, but he's so sweet and has beautiful eyes and your connection was instant and extreme. You got married at a civil ceremony one week before the date you had been scheduled to marry Scott. Lark came along almost 9 months to the day after the wedding. He's got his dad's huge head and fits his name, running wild and cracking you up. Lily came along a year later. She's a dark and quiet little girl who is nothing like you or your husband. She likes to sing along to the 2000s rap music you listen to in the car. You're pregnant, and you're thinking about moving to Arizona for work. |

Your name is something that no one spells or pronounces correctly and you vowed not to do that to your girls. You married into decent money and spend time at your in-laws' place on Nantucket. You work in academia and your DH is in business, travelling a lot. The girls are middle-schoolers now and thankfully get along really well. You live in drapey cardigans, used to smoke, and cover up your gray hair. |
No, no, a thousand times NO! But I will admit you're a gifted raconteur and I enjoyed reading your concoction.

Please, please make assumptions about me. I need a diversion today.

You live in a well-appointed townhouse where you try to evoke Kate Spade's style but still need to fill in with some Ikea pieces. You've been on anti-depressants for 10 years now, and they saved your life. The kids are adorable and you love spending time with them, though it was rough going with Henry's speech delays. You drive a Lexus SUV. You were in a snooty sorority but don't talk to those girls much any more - it never really was your scene and you only joined because your roommate did. Your older brother is your best friend. |

Yes, of course. You just figured that out? This is a free for all. |
Yes. |
