Looks like they won’t have many subs this season
well no ecnl cant do that. They once the can i open its open. Players should be free to move wherever whenever. I.e. vda to fvu / arl to fvu mdu to fvu etc.

They better advertise this option.

The transfers were approved all is well with girls and coaches everyone can go on playing soccer and being nice to everyone again.
ooooo so players can leave when they want to now?! Did you guys just open a can of worms? Did they give you anything in writing that other clubs can follow behind?

Mid season/early season transfers for those that paid dues are ok?

Yes, players can and should be able to leave whenever they want. This whole idea that youth clubs have ownership of the rights of players who pay dues is the stupidest thing. Nobody should be forcing children to play on teams they don’t want to play on. The only binding condition is the financial one. You pay your dues, you get your card and move on. FVU gets their money, BSC gets their players and coaches. Time to move on and let the kids play.

So are these players also paying dues at BSC? They were promised they didn't have to. Seems unfair to OG BSC families!
sounds like a bsc problem . If you guys
Dont like paying for walkons speak on it or leave… since you apparently can

Seems like they just did with this whole BSC debacle!

Oh come on. I am not at these clubs, so can see this with a clear mind. The ECNL rules were not broken. Was there a moral obligation here ( false promises, breaking up a team you were the current caretaker for to pad your own stats), maybe. Kids have always been able to transfer between seasons, ie, for the next season, after the ID. They can also transfer in season if the dues are paid and the club releases the card. This is why no rules were broken, transferred during the appropriate period, nationals not effected, and if any kids did commit (paid and committed to FVU) they could not have moved unless FVU released their cards. This whole issue is ridiculous. Did they break any rules? No. Should kids be allowed to transfer, yes. Should these coaches ever be trusted by their current clubs or kids not to do this again? No. Stop trying to sabotage kids, move on. The kids did nothing wrong. Whether the coaches did is open to interpretation. But it is a small community and everyone placing their trust in them should do so with eyes wide open.

Continuation. Did the coaches violate ECNL rules. No. If they were in my job and they were recruiting people to move with them while they were being paid by their current employer would the get fired and lose their license over ethical rules. Yes. But for some reason, being the caretaker of kids does not involve the same ethical obligations of other jobs. Go figure. Maybe this is where the ire should be directed. But according to the rules here, it seems nobody violated any.

What is this saga about? It is a pay to play system. If I used to go to Golds Gym and decided to switch to orange theory, will Golds Gym sue me? Worst case I lose my payments. Parents can move their kids anywhere, there are no professional contracts between parents and clubs. Why are we treating a bunch of kids like Pros?? This board is crazy.

You're oversimplifying it.
The kids shouldn't be punished, they should be able to switch clubs. But when coaches carve up three age groups in a club purposefully, while being paid by said club, months past tryouts dates, recruiting them heavy during Nationals (and before for some) and while players had already accepted offers - it sets a an uneasy precedent financially and morally - which is DMV soccer for a decade. Good luck to those moving forward and club directors beware, it's the wild west now.

Actually you are oversimplifying it.
This whole debacle is on FVU. If the parents had a choice on who the coaches would have been for the 3 age groups, almost all would have picked the 3 coaches at Bethesda and all the players would have stayed. Instead FVU did not listen to us parents as many of us called and even did a petition.

This is a Brave parent. Notice that all good players leave MV

If KL thinks he can control him, hes up for a rude awakening. This is NM's team good luck to all, hes the best right? Lets see cause this is a hot mess of a team with too many players at the same positions and parent egos who understandibly at u16 will have no patience for their child to ride the pine

Not even accurate but carry-on with the hate clearly you are better off with NM and the commute. Do you!

Where did MV coach for college? His kickball style is not going to win any game.

None of this would have happened if they had kept the coaches.

Can you name one coach that has switched clubs and players have not followed?
That is literally VDA’s playbook.

The TSJ players moved to VDA during the spring while tryouts were going on. All of the others went to VAR. You’re forgetting that literally every family left the St. James.

Very different situation.

Why are we suddenly talking about NM and ML like they’re coaching gods worth following? For years, there have been constant complaints about NM’s “coaching style”…err yelling, his conflicts of interest (which everyone, defectors included used to gripe about), and his massive rosters (30+ players on his 2009 team last season). But now he’s supposedly the next Pep Guardiola?

And ML…his “big” accomplishment is inheriting a stacked 2010 team and riding it on cruise control to the playoffs each year. Even then, he never advanced past group stage two years in a row and managed to take a 10–0 loss in the postseason, which this very forum chalked up to his lack of coaching ability. Was it his amazing coaching or the Brave/FVU merger that got him over the line this year? Make up your mind, because prior to all this some of the new BSC parents were touting the fact that the influx of 6 brave players made a “super team”

But suddenly these two are so great that parents are willing to abandon the team they just went to the final 8 with? Makes total sense. Go ahead and tell everyone NM and ML’s “development” were the real reason you left, definitely not the promises and glossy sales pitch they dangled in front of you the last three months.

Overnight, the “stench” of FVU became too much to handle but if your supposed coaching gods NM and ML hadn’t been canned, would you still be shouting “Go FVU” from the sidelines this season? Guaranteed. So i guess it wasn’t the crap show that is FVU after all.
