Maybe? |
There is a player on SSSAS on her second high school and fifth club in three years? That can’t be true? Can it? |

You must be new to this forum! |
May actually be 4th, but yes. Has burned quite a few bridges. |
| Criticizing a teenage student athlete in such a manner is utterly unacceptable. Not everyone's path is without obstacles or challenges. I am hopeful that this player and their family are giving their all, and some journeys are more tumultuous than others. It is likely that these disrespectful comments are coming from a jealous or resentful high school student or parent. Such inappropriate remarks have no place here, and this discussion will likely be shut down if this persists. The positive aspect is that it appears this player is now excelling and thriving in a excellent school and program. We should all wish for the success of our local players, as it benefits the entire region when our DC/MD/VA athletes perform well in high school and during recruitment. |
No Ma'am! You are utterly unacceptable! I strenuously object! |
| Trolls or bored HS student is back |

It's more about pointing out how ridiculous you are. If it is unacceptable, smash the little button in the bottom-right corner with the bell next to it. DCUM will take it down. However, if it's more important to register your outrage on an anonymous message thread, leave it. The third option is to report my comment.
Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think you're entitled to! |
| If this is a high school student posting or a jealous parent, it’s a pretty unfortunate example of how social media/online forums get used to take shots at other kids. Tracking another player’s school and club history and framing it as “burning bridges” just comes across as petty gossip. Athletes change schools and clubs for all kinds of reasons — academics, coaching fit, development, injuries, or simply finding the right environment. The good news is that the player being discussed appears to be doing well where she is now. That’s what actually matters. Tearing down another student athlete anonymously on a parent forum doesn’t make anyone look informed or tough — it just makes you look insecure and small. You don’t deserve success and being on the field if this is what you say and do. Hopefully, you’re sitting on the bench this week if this is a player, and if it is a parent, you really need to do some soul searching. Karma will work its magic it always does. |
With all due respect, objectively noticing that a player has been on multiple clubs and teams in a short period of time does not qualify as tearing down. Lacrosse is a small world, one does not need to "track" a local player to know they're constantly on the move. But clearly you are affiliated with this player in some way, so good luck and let's move on. |
| What if we just avoided targeting a bunch of criticism on any one teenager, be it some goalie or a girl who has moved teams or clubs? We can talk about team and dynamics without picking on a teenager individually. |
| Just came to say that this girl is killing it - scoring and assisting at a pretty good clip. |
This certainly looks like an ideal fit. Best of luck to everyone. I'm only remotely confident that everything will turn out well. |
You just randomly popped in to say this?? |
