What are these unfair trade agreements I keep on reading about??? United States has not made a single agreement where their own interests were not paramount, so much so that they may have screwed over the rest of the world but kept their interests front and center. There was no "unfairness", U.S wasn't doling out cash to other countries, these are sound bytes designed to appeal to less educated people.

We have literally installed dictators in the Middle East so that our supply of oil can remain unhindered and cheap, do you really think the same country is entering into "unfair" trade agreements. What is wrong with people?

I don’t get the obsession with manufacturing jobs. Most people do not strive to work in factories, they are generally not considered desirable jobs. Also, new factories are mostly automated with minimal staffing. We actually manufacture more than ever, it just takes a lot less people.

Thisis part of the Dem problem. You simply couldn't be more wrong. These jobs are highly sought after outside of urban areas. People in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania do seek out factory jobs. Getting a job on an auto assembly line is like winning the lottery.

When was in school, we learned that minorities especially suffered with globalization and the moving of manufacturing to overseas. And I'm not a business major, this was in social work.

Asian, Indian, and Latino minorities in the US have all done pretty well over the past forty years.

It’s always desirable to have a steady paying job with health benefits and labor protections, which requires a high school education. That’s what the Democratic Party is all about.

The job doesn’t have to be in a factory. And auto assembly jobs for people are just very 20th century. It’s just a fact that automation will mostly take those tasks. Training people for the jobs of the 21st century is also what the Democratic Party is about.

Agree completely with this. It is not the Dems problem to say that most people don’t want factory work; the people who do want that work just want living wage & benefits & security; there are other ways to achieve this. Tanking the economy ain’t one of the other ways, though.

And dems support unions that are responsible for most of these jobs, what is your point?

BFD. Corrections happen. Sorry you think the casino owes you wins every damn day.

The market is up. The market is down. Kinda like gravity.

With all due respect, a 10% two day drop is not anywhere close to normal. Something like this has only happened a handful of times in history.

this is the fourth worst back to back day for the DJIA in American history with a two day combined -8.65% loss, only trailing the 1929 crash, 1987 Black Monday, and the 2008 crisis.

Almost 6% drop in a single day. Following on from a 5% drop. Absolutely unbelievable. Trump truly is the biggest moron.

Last time in 2008

I worked as a quant for couple of years and most trading today is automated. In fact we had situations with traders calling and yelling at us because the programs were telling to do something that clearly wasn't the optimal choice. The wild volatility we see today is the result of automated trading. So these programs analyze thousands of moves and reacts to the smallest action that will yield the smallest possible profit. I am afraid this is the future. Get ready for more volatility. The human part of trading is gone and it's long been gone.

So inexplicable. Hard to believe that Congress is just watching Trump flushing our economy down the toilet and doing nothing to protect its constitutional powers.
