Because that sentiment still sweeps into the battleground states. Trump is doing nothing to capture moderates/independents and, in fact, continues to push them away directly or through his behavior. He's in quite a bit of electoral trouble.

There are very few quality state polls so it's what we have.

I have no idea what November holds but I’d so rather be a Democrat running than a Republican. Dobbs is going to hang over the heads of the GOP like a grand piano dangling on one wire.

+1 That Marquette poll found that 70% say abortion should be legal in all or most cases, and 30% say it should be illegal in all or most cases.

Not everyone wants to kill their own babies like you.

But 70% do, so there.

Congratulations??

A majority of people think abortion should be legal up to somewhere between 12 and 30 weeks with some exceptions for specific circumstances. The people that think abortion should be illegal in all cases with no exceptions or legal up until birth in all cases with no restrictions are a small majority but have the loudest voices. There is common ground to be reached in this issue among the majority. Our politicians find it more beneficial to use this issue to further divide us than to pursue that common ground in legislation.

Can you link to the source which says majority of people believe abortion should be legal at 30 weeks?

if you read the post you are responding to...it wasn't mine, you will see that she says "a majority of people think abortion should be legal up to somewhere between 12 and 30 weeks"

That is not translated to a majority of people thinking a 30 week elective abortion is fine. But we do have to account for circumstances where the fetus isn't viable or the life of the mother is threatened. This is why in ALL cases, it should be the decision between the mother and her doctor, and not the government.

So, no reputable source to back up the false claim PP made. Noted.

A majority of people (70%) certainly support Roe which was 24 weeks, plus third trimester if medically warranted.

A majority of people think it should be legal up to between 12 and 30 weeks. Small portions of that majority fall in shorter and longer end of that range.

Which source says majority believe abortions legal at 30 weeks?

I typed that twice for you and you still can't comprehend?

People go online all the time making statements without providing source material. I asked for her source because I wanted to analyze it myself.

Exactly, thank you.

29% of Americans approve of how President Biden is handling immigration, a decline from July 2021 when 38% gave the president a positive rating on the issue. 60% disapprove of his handling of immigration, up from 49% previously. 12% currently are unsure. 90% of Republicans, 66% of independents, and even 30% of Democrats disapprove of Biden’s approach to immigration.

Biden’s rating on the economy is still upside down. 41% approve of how Biden is tackling the economy, up slightly from 38% last March. 54% disapprove, and 6% are unsure. While more than three in four Democrats (78%) approve, most Republicans (91%) and a majority of independents (58%) disapprove of Biden’s handling of the economy.

Independents are more than twice as likely to choose the Republicans (38%) rather than the Democrats (17%) when it comes to handling the issue of immigration.

Is any of this meaningful given the alternative? I'd disapprove of Biden on everything other than the economy, and I will still vote for him. I don't think these approval ratings will necessarily correlate with a Trump/RFK vote or an abstention.

These numbers would all but guarantee an incumbent loss in an upcoming election but thanks to the GOP's insistence on running an even worse candidate, Biden still has a good chance of winning 2024.
