Succession - Season 4

She was so desperate to get upstairs - maybe that is what she was wanting to get?

Makes sense.

You think he gave her access to his private safe? Doubtful.

Theory on Roman being kind to Kerry:

Roman is only turned on when something is wrong (Geri putting him down, imagining his ex being dead). I wouldn't be shocked if he sleeps with Kerry, or at least tries to.

Where did you see that? I do think I recall them saying princess but can’t remember exactly how

When the first had the paper I think Geri and not sure if Frank or Carl. My sister missed it too---but my husband and I immediately heard them talk about the pencil in and referred to 'not Princess' no way or something like that. I took that to be Shiv since she was the only daughter and the 'workers' viewed her as a princess entitled.

It was very quick first scene in library where safe was when they first discuss the paper he found.

Nah Roman is turned on by being yelled at and ridiculed. And turned on by women his moms age. Unresolved mommy issues.

I took “Princess” to mean Kendall? Although eventually they went with him so I don’t know. I’m not sure they could have erased another name that well, right?

No, they said princes, not princess.

They definitely said Princess. And everyone was annoyed with her when she was jockeying for position a year back and totally screwed up.

She was Logan’s princess. Youngest, the baby girl.

His name was DEFINITELY crossed out, not underlined and he blew the document up on his cell phone and u can tell he knows that too.

I think Logan intentionally made the line both underlined and crossed out just to screw with Kendall from the grave. It’s yet another test for Kendall.

Logan wasn’t going to be “happy” unless Kendall was a corporate killer. Remember that slight smile Logan had when Kendall turned on him during the spread conference at the end of season 2?

Anonymous wrote:Why is Greg on the paper?

What pills were Roman taking off Logan’s desk towards the end in the meeting with Hugo and Karolina?

Why would Connor want his father’s apartment? This intrigues me that even though he was probably very neglected or loves by Logan he would want to buy Logan’s apartment.

Why is Willa’s mother still following Willa and Connor around?
m

Because they just got married yesterday- she was in town for the wedding- remember each episode is only one day. So the wedding was yesterday afternoon and now it’s the following morning. Makes total sense for the mother of the bride to still be there! There was probably supposed to be some sort of post- wedding brunch.

The mother of the bride would tag along to a meeting about his dead father/arrangements? I cannot imagine my mother doing that. Its a weird quirk they threw in there.

She wasn't there for the meeting, she was there for the wake. There were a lot of other people there that weren't going to the board meeting.

It’s pretty normal. If I was in town and my DC’s FIL died, I’d go to the wake (and funeral, if it wasn’t explicitly private).

Anonymous wrote:I don't really understand why Shiv acquiesced to the arrangement where Roman and Kendall assume "temporary" control of the company. She of all people should know that there is no way they will relinquish or share any power with her, once ensconced. Why didn't she fight this?! It makes me so mad, the way they spoke to her. I can only assume that between her father's death and her pregnancy she was so overwhelmed that she just threw up her hands. It's very unfortunate and I think she will regret this later. It's clear that she's already unhappy with it.

Just to play devil's advocate, Shiv has sort of had uniformly terrible ideas about what to do since Logan died. She wanted to keep the plane in the air until they had made a decision? Terrible. When discussing the merger with the GoJo guy she was saying things that were hitting wrong (honestly they should have just let Roman take that call, he's the best negotiator of all of them and the best reader of people). Has Shiv really been contributing in a positive way since Logan's death, besides offering sibling support? What good ideas has she had?

Kendall was right to say they needed to be careful and that their decisions would be scrutinized. Most of his ideas about getting doctors on the line etc were decent. Roman had good instincts re what to say on the phone with the GoJo guy (and what not to say, frankly). He was clever to dis-empower Gerri with the threat that her firing was coming. Roman read Tom and Greg correctly; may have been trying to get Kerri's info to have a better understanding of what Logan was thinking about him when he died and why he had asked him to do the firing. Is Roman's weakness that he still cares about people, e.g., Kerri, Gerri, not wanting to tarnish his father's name, etc, while to Kendall all these people can be decimated (and maybe that's what makes Kendall most like Logan and so maybe most likely to win)?

I don't think Shiv cares about people that much, but she is still pregnant with the child of a man she doesn't seem to love, so there's that.

Agree with all of this. Shiv isn’t very smart and has terrible instincts, which Logan saw very quickly when he had her work with him a bit. Roman has a good head for business & the most emotional intelligence, but he’s not ruthless. Kendall is clever and ruthless, but has no emotional intelligence nor discipline. They’re all seriously flawed in different ways. Per the discussion about people “rooting” for these characters, one reason I had a hard time getting interested in this show at first was that they are all awful — there are no characters worth cheering for.
