Armenia has very publicly turned away from Russia since their "velvet" revolution, and like Ukraine started looking more to the West than East. Armenia is a small nation without a protector currently, and Azerbaijan is taking advantage of that to fix some post-Soviet border issues. Armenia is probably hoping the West will step in and defend their borders, since post 1991 borders are now sacred. Plus, if Azerbaijan isn't stopped, they will probably conquer all of the Caucus, Central Asia and Eastern Europe. So we better start sending billions of dollars and F-16s to Armenia while we can. |

Of course Azerbaijan has never dropped it's agenda but you're the moron here because they previously HAD Russian-brokered ceasefires and a Russian military presence in the past. But now everyone knows Russia can no longer provide any of that because everyone is seeing that Russia is completely overextended and depleted due to their war in Ukraine and has very limited ability to do anything about Armenia and Azerbaijan. Former SSRs and countries formerly in Russia's orbit, in Russia's shadow, and often having their strings pulled out of fear of Russia's military might now see all that's gone. |

That's an entirely separate issue from Russia. The topic of this thread is Russia's invasion of Ukraine, not Azerbaijan. If you want to talk about that, you're welcome to start a new thread. And rather than YOU condemning Russia for its barbarism, beheading of live POWs, kidnapping, rape, torture, child trafficking, bombing hospitals, razing entire civilian villages to the ground, you only care about deflecting from Russia and its barbarism and instead only trying to find others to attack and revile, like America. Meh. Russia invaded Ukraine unprovoked. Now Russia is under indictment and nearly universal condemnation for war crimes it has committed during its illegal war. Russia can instantly “shut it down” as you say, by just going home, right now. Ukraine is just defending itself, that’s all. |
