OP, I find most of your points valid. I was not born and raised in this country, but I am grateful that here I have opportunities which I would not have back home. And it makes me wonder why people who have all the privileges like US citizenship, access to scholarships, etc -still don't care. Yes, it takes the grey matter and hard work to achieve something and even just to try and figure out how things work in this country - but why not make the effort.
