Yes!!! Terrible chemistry, terrible writing, terrible acting. |
Wrong. Loved "Dances with Wolves". |
So true: she was way too young for the role in American Hustle. I never understood her It girl status, like she had to be in every movie for awhile. |
| Nicole Kidman as Lucille Ball. That should have gone to Debra Messing. I'm interested in watching a movie about Lucy, but not if it means listening to Nicole's whispered American accent and spending the whole movie thinking "that's Nicole Kidman pretending to be Lucy." |
I think George Lucas should take most of the blame. I’m not sure if any actor could have made those movies watchable. |
| Speaking of Natalie Portman, she was so unbelievable to me in the movie Closer. She was supposed to be a stripper, but had a childlike presence acting next to Jude Law, Julia Roberts and Clive Barker. |
| My first thought was Minnie Driver and David Duchovny in "Return to Me" -- silly rom com but there was literally NO chemistry between them, which made it not just silly but unwatchable. |
|
Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss
She was too old! |
Good God. I can't decide which was worse--his terrible acting or terrible directing.

+1 Thisis an epically bad take. Kevin Costner was surprisingly good in Bull Durham, but he’s a dreadful actor, and Dancing with Wolves was tied with Waterworld for the worst of the worst. |
I don't think it's legit to be angry at the whitewashing, entirely. Or maybe it's more legit to be mad at a more complex issue. The character as written in the original comics was problematic. You can't have an asian person play such a bad, overt Asian stereotypical character. So the decision was to step away from the character, turn it into Tilda's ancient one in stead. Perhaps it would have been a better decision to cast an Asian character and rewrite in a way that didn't bring in blatantly offensive Asian stereotypes, but Marvel has a bit of a history in trying to re-do past offensive characters. For example, they used The Mandarin in IronMan 3, but it was done as a ruse - someone was hired to portray a bad guy who called himself The Mandarin (but the real bad guy ws someone else, the person who hired the actor). Now in Shani-Chi and the 10 rings, they'll bring in some of the lore from the Mandarin comics, but in a way that isn't so offensive. It's not perfect, but Marvel has been pivoting to more inclusive storytelling. |
I disagree - Dances with Wolves was really good - when it came out. Doesn't hold up, but it was a good movie at the time. He was really good in Bull Durham. Also excellent in The Untouchables. |
| Julia Roberts as Tinkerbell in Hook. |
| David Thewlis as the villain in Wonder Woman. It just didn’t work. Remus Lupin is NOT intimidating! |
