Worst hollywood casting decision ever?

Above all Peggy Sue Got Married. He nearly ruined an otherwise wonderful film.

+1.

Hollywood whitewashing is insane nowadays. There are so many decent Asian actors who are not given a chance it's just criminal.
Add Tilda Swinton in Dr. Strange, Natalie Portman in Annihilation, Matt Damon turning The Great Wall into a stereotypical "white man saves China" caricature, and Benedict Cumberbatch in the Star Trek reboot all as examples of Hollywood anti-Asian bigotry.

I loved him in that movie.

This is the first one I disagree with. I thought Ben was fine in Argo.

I'll add Jack Black in The Holiday, even though the part was apparently written for him.

Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher.
The character in the books is 6”5, not 5”6. I’m still annoyed with Lee Child.

I dont get PP saying benedict cumberbatch in Star Trek is an example of white washing: Khan is a genetically engineered super human, so hard to say he should be played by any particular human race. He was played by Ricardo Montalban originally but RM was a European-Mexican (both parents from Spain) so as European as BC. Plus, since Khan is a genetically engineered being, again, you can’t really say that BC was taking a Latino role. He was great in the movie and really did seem to have the vibe of a young Khan as played by RM.

On Jack Black, this used to bother me because Kate was out of his league. But then the characters they play, Iris is not superficial, and she's highly intelligent. Miles is successful, delightful and has a zest for music, his life and his career. We could all do much worse than a Miles!

Worst ever? As in I can't watch this part of the movie and it's ruined for me? Andie McDowell 3 Weddings and a Funeral. No question. Such a shame.

.

I'm the person who said Avatar and I agree with this. I wouldn't have put BC on that list.

Avatar was horrific -- terribly done and offensively whitewashed. It was unwatchable.
