Everyone has their likes and dislikes, but I honestly think the majority of negative responses are over the top, and trollish, just trying to sound cool, mean girl like behavior, which is fitting since a reason for not using the name was " the other arents on the playground will talk". Middle school mentality.

I also think it's a touch of groupthink and a lack of familiarity. I've looked at several name threads and have seen people freak out about a name but then a year or so later it's one of the most suggested names.

Anyway. I still like the name and will likely still use it.

Ok well you asked.

It's a bad luck name. Why oh why would you name your child a violent storm. So awful.

I'd rather Khadijia from the spin off show. Pretty name! Could be spelled a variety of ways.

Do not do this to your child

Please don't saddle an innocent child with this name. Just. Say. No.

What’s the likelihood she’ll be a redhead? If so it’ll be perfect! 😂

If this is what you get from adults, imagine what she will get from kids.

Honestly, any group of kids is probably better and kinder than DCUM.

OP, what do you think about the name Gale? Still has powerful weather connotations, but it sounds kind of traditional because it's pronounced the same way as Gail/Gayle.

I think of the poem on the Statue of Liberty (and Shakespeare, though that has been covered). I like it, though it's not my style. I've always loved the name Hero for a girl from Greek mythology and Much Ado About Nothing, and that seems somewhat similar.

I'm sorry OP, I don't like it. If you love it, I agree with others that it could be a middle name.

I like this name actually but have been told it's too old-fashioned.

Tempest has a very negative connotation to me—like naming your child hurricane or tornado. I think there are other names that have meanings of strength and/or weather that have a more positive connotation.

Wasnt Gale a (male) character from hunger games? That ought to modernize it.
